“So that you know, I rate places on how well they accomplished their goal. Apple Barrel is a truck stop diner, and it is a great example of that. The food is plentiful and tasty. We didn't have room for a piece of one of the myriad pies up front.
My chef salad was very fresh and the bacon pieces were still warm. My husband's Reuben was great and large enough he couldn't finish his fries.
Highly recommended as a good place to grab a hearty meal and stretch your legs.“

“We’ve gone to this place a couple of times. The food is not bad, but not stupendous. This last time we got there 4:50pm on friday. They said they don’t open until five, as fire up the grill. They take our order. We get salad bar. 40 minutes later we finally get our t-bone. The steak was more than medium well and it was seasoned with rosemary. This is the second time the meat was a little twangy, because of the spices. The ambiance was good, the food was proportionate to the price. The twang and the wait isn’t my cup of tea. I could have butchered the cow and grilled it myself in 40 minutes. If you like the rustic, taxidermied animal decor; this place is a site. The burgers and non-prime meats are great.“
