A party of four of us had dinner at Mouth of the South in Downtown Omaha on October 1, 2023. Glenn was our server. He greeted us, made eye contact and asked if we had been there before. We have ate at MOTS 4 or 5 times and have always had a great experience. The quality of the food never disappoints. Top notch drink menu. The service is always great.
Great food..wonderful staff!
Mouth of the South - Old Market is a restaurant that offers a variety of dishes, from New Orleans-inspired options like red beans and rice, etouffee, and gumbo, to classic choices such as burgers and omelettes. The restaurant has a lively atmosphere with high ceilings, hardwood floors, and brick walls, making it a great spot for families and friends to gather. Sometimes, it features live music, enhancing the dining experience.
The service is noted to be attentive and friendly, with staff like Topher and Lauren receiving praise for their knowledge and hospitality. The food is generally well-received, with standout items including the fried potatoes, eggs Benedict with crab cakes, and the bourbon street surf and turf. Some dishes, such as the Cajun chopped salad with blackened chicken, have been described as "tasty as hell." However, there have been a few concerns regarding food temperature and saltiness in certain dishes. The prices are on the higher side, but the generous portions and enjoyable atmosphere make it a fun place to have a meal, especially during brunch with live music.
