Ar first glance, this is a comfortable spot to bring friends and family; the crowd here, the staff, everyone around are a pleasure to be around. We came here with a friend who's a quadriplegic, using a heavy and tough to navigate power wheelchair. There's a pretty big step up at the door, and I was certain we'd have to find a different place to bring our friend and his wheelchair. Stopped for lunch at Merland’s after visiting the Ice Castles in Woodstock. We had great service thanks to Tracy . My husband had a cocktail and Tracy made me fresh coffee. We both had salads, I had the cranberry almond with Boars Head chicken and my husband had the garden salad with grilled chicken. Delish. The owner was there delivering food and it all looked great. I only tried the food. I got a mushroom and swiss burger with onion rings for take out. My kids waited in the fenced in playground right outside. Then I ate by the river while they played. Food was serious pub food. The rings were hand breaded and that burger was for real! It was a little messy the way it should be. The men's room was rustic but clean. Looks like a good bar for a round of brews but I was just passing by. Highly recommend
