“I was desperately craving sushi. I had not been to a restaurant for months so i wanted to treat myself. I found Maza and went into order. Never having been there and not knowing what to expect…i wish all testaurants and people were as nice as Maza’s employees. They helped me find rolls that were gluten free, they showed me all the ingredients they planned on using to confirm they were gluten free. I asked for two rolls to go, one salmon and one tuna, for a friend. When the two rolls came out both the chef and the cashier reminded me i stated salmon and tuna, both rolls to go came out with salmon on top and they offered to switch the salmon on top of one of the rolls to tuna at no extra charge, when i went to pay i noticed a cash jar for tips, i apologized for not having cash to tip and the cashier sincerely said dont worry about it. If you are sick of dealing with entitled restaurant employees who demand tips just for looking at them, then this is the place for you. The sushi was as fresh and delicious as the employees were sweet and kind and respectful. Thank you HaShem for Maza!!!!

My boyfriend and I we the only ones there for a 7pm seating (Tuesday after Thanksgiving) so we got a complete one-on-one meal with chef Carmen and head chef Sean. It was so interesting learning about where each fish came from, each piece's preparation, and so much more! I'm glad I got such an intimate experience the first time, and look forward to going again with a group to get the full omakase, dinner-party-esque kind of atmosphere. “Solid choice for hibachi and sushi. Food is seasoned well and not over powered with garlic or soy. We also enjoy that you get rice and noodles. Meat is always cooked well nothing was over cooked. The portions are a little on the smaller size however you do soup, salad, rice, veggies and noodles with your meat so it does make sense given all you get. Prices are also good for everything you are given.“

“Despite growing up in Little Silver and passing Kissui for almost two decades, I recently decided to try it for the first time. While the interior is somewhat lackluster, the food itself was a treat. The clear soup and gyoza were incredible, and the sushi rolls were fresh and prepared well. Furthermore, the prices were reasonable, which is extremely refreshing during this administration. The restaurant was completely empty during dinner, though, which was somewhat sad to see. On the heels of the disappointing change of ownership at Little Szechuan "GoGo" (still cannot believe that is the name) - this may be my new standby for oriental cuisine in Little Silver.“

“Osaka is a classic! I recommend really any of the hand rolls, but my favorites are the spider roll, sweet potato roll, any of the vegetarian rolls, the eel roll is good too! The edamame is a must on the side, and their lo mein + fried rice is really good too. “we've been going to 709 for many years, and go there quite often . service is always good, but the food has been hit or miss for the past year. they closed down and reevaluated their menu and staff. the new staff is excellent, as was the old. we have decided to continue to support 709 during their transition. Saturday's dinner was just not prepared to my liking. my fillet was medium well, when i asked for medium rare. the server was excellent, and tried everything to accomodate my requests. no fault of her own. but, the chefs should pay better attention to what they are cooking. the sushi chefs also need to check the freshness of the fish they are serving. the usually "red" tuna was gray. we tried a piece each, and decided not to eat it, and it was then off our bill. 709 was "the" place to grab a great meal.... look at my other reviews. not too sure anymore.“
