Kiku offers excellent food and service in a fun atmosphere, although the elevator needs fixing for elderly customers. The staff was friendly and priced well, with a strong menu variety and ample parking. The legendary Kiku Alpine still lives up to its name, with the atmosphere, food, and service being way better than the secondary Paramus location. The chef, Mike, puts on an impressive show and is patient and accommodating, even with large groups and dietary restrictions. The decor has a nostalgic '80s feel, and the hallway features photos of celebrities who have dined at Kiku. Overall, the experience at Kiku is enjoyable and worth returning to, with delicious hibachi, generous portions, and a welcoming atmosphere. The hibachi chef Christian delivers a great table side performance that guests find neat, quick, and personable. The restaurant is a spacious, local gem with high-quality, fresh food, making it a popular choice for hibachi lovers. However, some visitors noted that the meat quality and rice did not meet their standards, and the sushi chef had resigned, limiting options mainly to hibachi. The cocktails are inexpensive but considered among the worst experienced in the past year, with a terrible Mai Thai prompting some to switch to beer. Despite these drawbacks, many still enjoy the lively chef antics and good value for the amount of food served, although some found the flavor a bit lacking, with teriyaki sauce overpowering the chicken, steak, and shrimp. Overall, Kiku offers a fun and satisfying dining experience, especially for those who enjoy hibachi.
