Got the Chef's choice sushi and tuna/aji sushi and every piece was amazing and so fresh. Also got the spicy tuna crispy rice (don't have a photo) but would skip this next time, it just doesn't travel well. Can't wait to try Shiso in person!“

Lived here for 5 years, and the sushi and sashimi here are great and taste fresh. “Been searching for good japanese restaurant for quite some time. Let me just say that Mikado far exceeded our expectations. From tge appetizers to dinner, it was exceptional. Our server, Michelle, was great. We had tge seared pepper tuna sushi app - so fresh and delicious. My husband had the hibachi with filet and lobster - amazing too. My son had the combo udon noodles - ate every bite! We had the tempura banana dessert - delicious as well as the chocolate mousse cake and coppa cafe. Amy at the front desk was so gracious and sweet. We will definitely be back many times. Give this place a try - you won’t be disappointed!!!“

“I ordered take out. I was super hungry and I was hopeful that this would be perfect to curb my appetite. When my food arrived, I was disappointed by the portion size (6 pieces) and filling (very little fish) of the Philly Roll. I tried to include better photos but my app timed out while attending to the kiddos. womp womp. I really enjoyed the Pork Dumpling (6) but was slightly uncomfortable with the presentation/packaging; the dumplings were sitting on a paper doily soaking up the condensation which can be both off putting and beneficial. The Exotic Bomba was delicious and perfect for sharing (says 6 servings but I would say about 2, maybe 3). The flavor of these thing were great but there could have been improvements to this order.

We got their pan-fried dumplings, mapo tofu, spicy crab, and house special fried rice. Everything was delicious! Pan-fried dumplings were juicy, flavorful, and tasted homemade. The mapo tofu was soft and tender, and covered in chili oil (a bit on the spicy side, but we all love spice). The spicy crab was REAL soft-she’ll crab deep-fried in a seasoned batter and quickly stir-fried in dry chilis. And the house special rice had a wonderful smokiness from the wok. SO MUCH BETTER than the rice at Volcano Hibachi down the road. If you want the best of both Japanese and Chinese (Sichuan) cuisine, RUN to this place!“

“Hands down one of the BEST sushi experiences I’ve had in Philadelphia. From the moment I walked in, I could feel the welcoming, positive energy. The atmosphere is clean, comfortable, and has such a great vibe that makes you want to slow down and truly enjoy your food.

I ordered the shrimp tempura roll — and honestly… I loved it so much that I ended up ordering TWO of them. Perfectly crispy on the outside, warm and flavorful on the inside, and made with extremely fresh ingredients. Every bite tasted better than the last. You can genuinely tell that a lot of care and pride goes into how the sushi is prepared here.

On top of that, I also ordered a shrimp avocado roll to take home, and Min was absolutely amazing. She was beyond kind, patient, and welcoming — the kind of person who makes you feel like a valued guest, not just another customer. She packed everything up quickly and neatly, and made the whole experience even better with her friendly attitude and positive energy.

This place isn’t just about great food — it’s about great people, great service, and a great overall experience. If you’re looking for authentic sushi, high-quality ingredients, generous portions, and a spot that truly cares about their customers, do yourself a favor and come here.
