“Our waitress was the sweetest and they have some really unique menu items. I’d say their sweet choices are better than the savory but we enjoyed everything we had. Cornbread French toast was particularly sublime! The French press Kona coffee was a great start to the day. My one small complaint was the cleanliness of the dishes. My coffee mug had a visible red lipstick stain, my water glass had food particles on it and one of my plates was dirty. Just a small critique there. The space is nice open and not stuffy. And I noticed a good amount of foot traffic overall!“

I called a day before to confirm our reservation and to my surprise the person who answered the phone didn’t secure my reservation when I called and found this out your staff went out their way to make sure I was accommodated my coworkers and I had a fabulous fabulous time it was Awesome food great as usual music great,service was exceptional as usual and the occasion was perfect. I live in Philadelphia but I go to Cherry Hill. Your hostess African American young lady nice twist in hair and glasses and beige and black sweater was awesome. “My son and I had a really great experience. He ordered the avocado Benedict and it came out with bacon. We sent it back cause he’s a vegetarian. The menu omitted that it was a meat dish. Anyway, not only were they gracious about the exchange but they brought my son a fresh bowl of fruit. The apologized a few times about the mix up. The Benedict was fixed and delicious! I ordered the chili- and let me say- best chili ever!!!“

“Had a great cheese steak hoagie here last time I was in Philadelphia. Just the right amount of onions and very fresh. I had issues with some of my Canadian cards not working to pay and I felt bad causing a bother during busy breakfast hours. However the people running this place are very friendly and it's just a pleasant place to eat.“

“It's definitely a sketchy part of the city but their food is really good, and they seem like friendly enough people. My fave thing to order here is the chicken and waffles. The chicken is never seasoned but still good somehow,just needs some salt and pepper (+). Their grits are pretty good as well, not lumpy like some other breakfast spots.“

Staff was lovely and attentive and we were surprised to see there was a seating area. The hot dogs are a must get and all of them were delicious. Definitely recommend adding on the picked and onion. Now it's our Friday tradition.Breakfast at Shaps.The #2 w/ pancakes is the deal of a lifetime. 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, and meat for $7 can't be beat.Love this place. The owner says they have been at this location for 25 years. Put some respek on their name.The only problem is that they are not open on the weekends.“

It's not the same owners I started out with but the quality of food never changed and these owners owned it for decades. If you can ignore what's going on outside it's a great stop. The neighborhood changed the restaurant did not.“

And it did not disappoint! The food is great and there’s plenty of it! I had the western omelette and home fries and could not finish it. Hubs got two eggs, bacon, sausage and home fries and also could not finish. The service is excellent, everyone is so friendly and welcoming. A must try!!“
