“Went with my girlfriend for dinner and drinks on a Friday. We sat at the bar and had a wonderful time! Bartender was friendly and attentive. We had 2 cocktails each and split deviled eggs, disco fries and the pizza jam sandwich. The food was delicious, large portioned and well paced. The total bill was just over 100 dollars which feels unheard of for a dinner with alcohol in philly. Can’t wait to go back!“

“My wife and I had lunch there today I had the chicken fried steak and my wife had the chicken panni and French onion soup. The food was excellent the server Hailee was very good and very professional. She was also very friendly and very cute. If you are close to there definitely stop in.“

“This past year I had to private events at Lamp Post, one brunch, one dinner. I can't begin to say how wonderful both was. The staff goes well above and beyond with everything and the food was great. You can't beat the price.“

“Can’t count how many times we’ve been here but here is my review of Silk City.

The food was excellent. Can’t go wrong in any order. Loved the ambiance. The drinks were good. It’s good to have a reservation as this place gets packed every time, but they could accommodate you to the diner section. Service at the diner section usually takes longer. Lots of parking around the area, but it’s better if you take Lyft or Uber. Staff were amazing and really friendly.

We will always go back to this place.“

“Huge fan, I’ve never had a bad sandwich at Johnny Hot’s, until today 8/30/24. I was supposed to have just pork roll on a steak roll with spicy mustard, no egg and no cheese. The pork roll is usually cut very thin with a nice braise on it. It had egg & cheese on it. The egg & cheese were warm the meat was cool, no grill color to it. By the time I took the egg & cheese off there was hardly any pork roll, very disappointed. It was “no change” Friday, so I gave my apprentice 15 dollars for a sandwich I couldn’t even eat.“

“The Black horse diner outdid themselves in helping provide outstanding chicken pot pies to celebrate my dad's 90th birthday. the pot pies from the Black horse diner are one of his favorites and I wanted to serve them the party I had.... the team at the diner was so helpful and accommodating and the food was absolutely over the top outstanding. I usually do not like to go to places in and around where I live because I've had very bad experiences but this place is a Hidden Gem or a Hidden Gem to me. I went here three times and breakfast on the weekends this place is packed yet even being packed the atmosphere is so nice so calm and you can enjoy yourself. The servers are so sweet the food is not only delicious but you don't wait long at all whether it's breakfast or lunch or whatever you're ordering. I highly suggest this place and obviously so does my brother LOL next time I go I will take some pictures.“

“Good place to pickup your beers and the prices are lower than the other two delis a few blocks away that also sell beers. Also they now accept debit card payment for like a year now which is good so you don't have to carry a lot of cash especially around that neighborhood (if you know what I mean).“

“This is one of all time favorite diners. The food is delicious and the servers are so fantastic and kind. I've ordered oatmeal in the afternoon a couple times and they have to make sure they still have any, which luckily they have both times. I know it's a simple item but it's one of my favorites and I appreciate that they always check instead of just saying it's too late. The French toast is some of the best ever, and they always do eggs over hard properly with zero runny yolk. The avocado toast (with added egg especially) is so delicious. The apple crumble pie is the best I've had. Clearly I could go on for days. But truly, even more than the amazing food is the amazing staff. Every single waitstaff member I have had the pleasure of interacting with has been so helpful and thoughtful and generous. I've had items substituted in ways that save money, comped drinks, just so much unexpected kindness. It's the only local diner I gk to. They're the best!“
