“Amazing whole in the wall spot. I'm puertorican, and it's hard to find a good boricua place in NJ. This place is great. The food is great, and the service is outstanding. They treat their customers like family, and the prices are good. I definitely recommend this spot!“
“I almost never come here, but for the few times I’ve been here over the past decade, every single time the food is very solid. This place is the absolute definition of consistency; when a chicken sandwich from 10 years ago tastes the same as it does in 2024, you know you’re doing well!“
“Really good food and aesthetic atmosphere! Loved the nachos and quesadillas it was really fresh and delicious! Jessie was our server and she was very attentive and made sure we are okay at all times. It was my birthday and I really enjoyed celebrating here!“
“I had lunch with 9 people and everyone was delighted with the experience and the meal. There is valet parking in the parking. It started with olives and Portuguese bread. Next came the salad. The entrees were served with vegetables and wonderful homemade French fries. The lunch came with churros and a small cup of chocolate for dunking which was sooo good! We didn't know that so we also had Portuguese custard cups and they were wonderful.“
“Casa d'paco in ❤️I would give 10 stars to this place if I could.Service was awesome, staff is really friendly and helpfull, always smiling. The food is out of this world, we loved everything we ate, it was delicious, the best food we had during this 9-days trip in USA.“
“It was like dining in a 5 star establishment. I had the surf & turf. The jumbo shrimp.was perfectly cooked and the steak tips unbelievably great. I never had their specialty desert cake. It was an unbelievable experience, so good. The owner Jose was so friendly and made me feel like family. Overall, I highly recommend Chloes. My go to place!“
“Walk into Basque country, enjoy wonderful food experiences and atmosphere. A special place- a gem hidden in the Ironbound, where you are transported into a culinary adventure to be shared with family and friends. A formal restaurant and lively soccer bar, enjoy both and La Liga matches surrounded by true aficionados who regular there. After your first visit, there remains a constant call to return and repeat the same, again and again and again..... Enjoy“
“I just returned from Costa Rica! Three days later I ran to Tucanes for Costa Rican food! They do not disappoint! Delicious, fresh, authentic and beautifully presented is exactly how to describe my meal! In addition to scrumptious food, TucanesHas a lovely, pristine atmosphere with excellent service. Restrooms are immaculate! I love this place. I went back a week later for another wonderful experience! I am now a regular!“
“Went with a party of 5 in a torrential rainstorm on a Saturday night place was packed. The service was outstanding regardless of the fact that all dining rooms and all tables were full. We had excellent service one of my criteria for a good review is a clean bathroom the bathrooms were spotless. The menu was fine. Then the waiter gave us the specials and we all ordered specials from what I could see. Everything was delicious two of our party ordered veal chops, smothered in marsala wine and mushrooms 2 nice sized chops per portion, another had red snapper with shrimp and a fresh tomato sauce.another had a paella that was large enough to feed several people. I ordered a halibut in a white wine caper sauce. The fish was fresh, but to be fair it was a bit dry and could've used more sauce. Platters of sides were served family style a huge platter of yellow rice, a huge platter of mixed vegetables and another big platter of the Crisp potatoes that look like potato chips, that are regularly served at most Portuguese restaurants. everyone enjoyed their food and I took a great deal home with me,had lunch and dinner for the next day. I was not able to see the bill, so I'm not sure what it came to, but it was reasonably expensive. considering that the dining rooms were full, and even people were eating at the bar our food came out hot fresh, and with very little wait. I would recommend. I cannot emphasize how excellent the service was. We had traditional red sangria, and also white sangria, which was delicious.“
“I never have a bad experience here. The food is fantastic, I am a seafood gal. The staff is fun, friendly and accommodating, within reason. I have a funny tummy but their extensive menu is always a feast for my eyes. My favorite dish is the whole snapper, simply delicious!“
“Today I ordered food for Lunch, super delicious.I recommend the broth, the corviches and the breaded chicken, it's super delicious, the house mayonnaise and spicy sauce is delicious and the portions are very large... it's totally worth it, it takes you back to our country completely.I always order from my Ubereats account and they send me little notes, this time my husband asked for it and he didn't feel that love haha“
“Been going here for years and years , but hadn't been here in some time. The food was as good and the service was second to none, just as Id remembered. 5 star all the way.Parking: Lot is directly across the street with an attendant in it. Worry free!“
“My dad first put me on this restaurant by its delicious, fresh takeout food. We'd typically order octopus or whole fish. My parents decided to take us out for our birthday and it was not a disappointment. I felt like I was in Portugal without actually traveling there and it's a home away from home from the moment you walk in.Everyone ordered different entrées and each dish offered a unique, top-quality taste. If you're looking for an authentic Portuguese spot in the Hudson County area, Pic-Nic is your go-to!Vegetarian options: There is a vegetarian option available on the menu.Parking: About 11 or 12 parking spaces and street parking is very difficult given the area.Kid-friendliness: While there is no kids menu, there are few options available for children.Wheelchair accessibility: Whether parked in the lot or on the street, you can easily access the lot, entrance and seating area with a wheelchair.“
“My new favorite place for authentic Dominican food! I can’t believe we live like 2 blocks away and never came here before. I do wish there was more seating but hey there was enough for us! The place is clean and the staff is welcoming and respectful. The food was phenomenal! I was ready to go back for dinner. I will definitely become a regular at this place. Thanks for providing such quality food.“
“The best Dominican food according to my boyfriend who is Dominican. I though it was great food. It was my first time here as I am not a local in this area and I have to say it was delicious 100 times better than the Dominican Restauraunt we are regulars at.“
“My first time here, even though I have passed by it many times before. I was looking for a place where I can order a salad at a reasonable price. Boy! This place is the place to go for the best salad in town so far. Delicious, good portion, and the best price. can’t wait to come back again and try other things on their menu. They look amazing and delicious.“
“A good quick bite however it’s a bit pricy and oily. It is $3 per empanada…The workers aren’t very nice to non English speakers and don’t work the fastest however the food is good and cooked fresh daily. It is very clean inside!! There is a separate bakery entrance so you don’t have to wait in the restaurant line.“
“Check this place if you in Downtown Garfield...Stop in for a snack and drink ...I got an arepa a few chicken empanada ? that meal was delicious ......ask about the natural fuit juice .They even have espresso and real Colombian coffee ....wake u rite up ...lol .....“
“What a great little spot food was yummy we had the clams in the garlic sauce to start which was nicely cooked. I then had the grilled swordfish which was juicy and yummy. Very chill environment with a pleasant and accommodating staff. Read online the ownership changed recently and wish them the best of luck the only downside was parking but one of the joys of Kearny unfortunately.“
“Just visited Gourmet Express Market for the first time to order empanadas for a party. The owners are so nice and helpful. They even gave me an empanada to try and I can see why the reviews are so good. The empanada was delicious. Can’t wait to serve the rest to my family and friends tonight!!!“
“Definitely a seafood lovers destination. The wait time can be long sometimes but its well worth it. I'd rather wait for excellent food than get mediocre food on demand. The staff is awesome and so are the owners. Its always a pleasure going there to eat. See you guys real soon. (Getting hungry)“
“Stopped by for lunch today and was blown away. Aside from over a dozen fried empanadas to choose from, they had five baked varieties on display. Inside is seating for 20, a soda fountain and a small drink fridge with about 10 options. Empanada are $6 but double the size you'll find elsewhere. I got the chicharrones de cerdo bowl. Served piping hot and fresh, the pork wasn't hard but had great flavor and chew. The sauteed red onions were a nice touch on top of a bed of fluffy white rice and iconic black beans. The squeeze of lime over everything married all the flavors together giving it that zesty acidity. $15.98 and well worth it, could only finish half.It took less than 10 minutes to prepare.Parking: Better off in the back or on a side street“
“Can't believe I never came here. The food was so good, except for the vegetarian paella...a hard pass never again. Had the mushrooms and salad, delish. And oh man, that dipping sauce they give with the bread was amazing! Sangria was ok.“
“Came here for a repast lunch. We ordered from the regular menu. The food is good and they obviously have a happening bar vibe in the evenings. Prices are reasonable and service was good considering we were at least 20 people. There were some hits and misses on some of the dishes but overall a good experience.“
“Wow this place is great, if I could eat here daily I would! Honestly the food is amazing and filling, you come feeling stuffed! I’ve had multiple dishes here, one of my favorites is their stuffed salmon, the steaks are also delicious! And one of my other favorites is the lobster ravioli! Yum!“
“The older woman at the front counter (I forgot her name) extremely kind and helpful. There was a big lunch rush and she was apologizing for the long wait. She made all my food fresh and it was absolutely delicious. I had the beef and potato, chicken chipotle, and the apple crisp empanada and they were all fantastic. High recommend this place for any empanada lovers !“
“We had a BRUTAL time as a family in a clean, cozy environment. The young woman who attended us was very friendly (Claudia). And above all the delicious food!!! ☆☆☆☆☆ We even danced and everything. Anyway, thank you all for that little time! BLESSINGS ?“
“Located right off McCarter Highway in Newark right by South Street. This Manny's is way different than the others I have visited. A big platter is still $8 and empandas are still $2. I ordered stewed chicken with rice & black beans. Chicken was juicy & falling off the bone, rice was cooked well, not over cooked as were the beans. I ate this food for 3 days as the portion size is huge. I will be back...“
“My family dinned there to celebrate my son who passed birthday as it was his favorite place. Our waiter Jesus made our experience exceptional. The food was great the manager was accommodating and it’s been our eight year celebrating. The food is delicious and plenty full. ???“
“I came to Nano’s 2 times. My daughter and I went to the Nano’s in Passaic, NJ. The foods are good and the smoothie drink is very delicious! My daughter loves strawberry smoothies. The nano’s is good place. I will go over there again sometime“
“Came here for lunch and ordered the birria bowl: rice, black beans, cheese, pico de gallo, and birria meat. The birria meat was great, tasty, tender, and delicious. The combo of salsa verde and sour cream added flavor to the dish. Portion was a bit small... My gf ordered the birria taco and she felt alright with it. The place is small and cozy. However, i had better birria in queens, which biased my taste and judgement on the taste...“
“Awesome place! I have been coming here for over 30 years and it never disappoints! The food is amazing, the sangria is not watered down and the service is exceptional! The most recent visit was to celebrate a group of birthdays. They gave us one of the rooms which fit about 25 of us. Even though we were separated from main dining room, servers were still very attentive. The portions are larger so they are shareable. I had skirt steak that came with veggies and mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked exactly as ordered. We brought our own cakes and they sliced and served for us. We never felt rushed and stayed for over 3 hours. We got there at 3pm on a Sunday so it wasn't too crowded. I will continue coming and highly recommend!“
“I was looking for a really good pupusa spot, the only place I will go was in union city! Baby… this spot hit!! Freshly made pupusas, el curtido was delicious ? and to wash it down my cola champán!! Customer service was immaculate!! 10/10 definitely will be going back☺️oh and the place is so clean?“
“Always great food. Staff shows all effort, especially if Spanish is not your strength. The bread is amazing. Calamari were hot and fresh, and the sauce is better than at most restaurants. Vegetables are cooked well. Shish kebabs of shrimp, pork, chorizo and steak is big and tasty. The sangria is very good, red or white.“
“Saludos a mi tía (twice removed) que trabaja aquí, y a lo otros trabajadores también, the food is pretty good, my only issue is the security at this place, there is no form of protection, the area can be pretty dangerous at times, so I am just concerned for the safety of the employees, sometimes the people that work here need help...“
“As a patron of the Tenafly location, I wanted to try the Montclair locale. Parking isn't great around there but we managed. The cocktails were good. There was a grilled octopus plate served with a salad as an appetizer and it was delicious! Most of the entrees were seasoned okay but nothing stood out. One of our 5 dishes came out wrong but corrected within 5 minutes. The original dish was meant for another table and we got the correct plate quickly. Noise level was normal for a Friday night. Very nice ambiance - decor wise. Would return.“
“Just had a perfectly cooked Rib Eye in a very comfortable atmosphere. Meson is the Absolute standard in the area for a traditional Spanish steakhouse. Been coming here for years. The restaurant is run like a clock, HQ fish and meat and the staff is highly professional. Well run establishment.“
“Best flavored food I've had since being on the East Coast this past year. I got the yellow rice, habichuela, and pernil. The skin was so crunchy, and everything was delicious. Can't wait to go back and try the empanadas and other meat. Glad I found this gem of a “

Price..!! . The best in market..!!Vegetarian options: Rice , rice and beans, yellow plantain, salads, vegetables, veggies soup, salsas,Parking: May take a little time. Depend of the day : but you always can find a good spot.Kid-friendliness: All are welcome, for sure they will have fun with the waitress!!Wheelchair accessibility: It’s easy to get in since the low level of the sidewalk and the restaurant entrance too!!“
“We were at Cravings Tapas for a live music performance by Gizem in early March when te restaurant was reserved for I’m guessing 80-100 diners. This bistro is full of warmth and hospitality was top level, starting with its owner Ms. Stani and her dedicated wait staff. The portions are as generous as the variety offered on the menu, ensuring that every diner leaves satisfied. But it wasn’t just about the food for us; we enjoyed Gizem’s live music which added another layer of charm to our experience. With performances ranging from French and Turkish melodies to English classics and even Persian and Indian songs, it was so much fun. Back to Craving Tapas: everything was delicious! And we tried over 15 different items from the menu at our table of four. Last but not the least is about the kitchen staff: kudos to its hard working crew and the chef for pushing out hundreds of tapas to dining room full to the brim without any delays. Not an easy feat. Very well done! See you soon. Oh and it’s BYOB.“
“I've only been here twice, but so far so good. My only complaint is that I wish they'd open earlier. I have to be at work by 8am, so if they opened at 7am instead of later I might be able to get breakfast here too. Also, they're not very transparent with pricing. Idk how I spent $17 on a dinner for 1 person. And the second time $13.“
“They have a friendly and quick staff, they know the menu very well and so far made two great suggestions that I really enjoyed. Beat Bolon we had so far in the planting to cheese and meat ratio. Hoping they Jazz it up in the future and add a cheese sauce like their competitors who don’t have that great ratio just mentioned.“
“The food here was amazing we ordered the mar & mar with the special grilled fish special. The for the mar & mar 2 sides can be chosen but for the special it comes with rice and soup. Marjorie our server and she was very helpful with suggestions (we needed up getting the mango and guanabana smoothie). We will come here again especially for the daily special and the attentiveness. There was a hair on my fish, I didn’t mention it to the server tho.“
