Excellent service
A place where we Ticos remember our country, because the atmosphere feels like our home and the meals remind us of popular Costa Rican cuisine.
The decor at this morsel of Costa Rican culture is aesthetically pleasing and if you’re in the area, this is one of the better Tico spots. We watched Costa Rica beat Paraguay in a Copa America game while eating pupusas, un Casado and Tacos Ticos and totally hit the spot. Especially since they served some salsa Lizano on the side.

Tucanes Restaurant offers delicious Costa Rican food with excellent service. Appetizers like vigoron (with juicy fried pork and tart cabbage) and chifrijo (rice, beans, fried pork, pico de gallo, and avocado) have a wonderful citrus vibe. Entrees include primavera pasta, shrimp vodka pasta, pupusas, un Casado, and Tacos Ticos, all served with salsa Lizano on the side. The interior decor is aesthetically pleasing with nice music. The service is amazing, and a discount is given to Prospect Park residents. This is one of the better Tico spots in the area, perfect for enjoying a game while dining.
