“Went with my girlfriend for dinner and drinks on a Friday. We sat at the bar and had a wonderful time! Bartender was friendly and attentive. We had 2 cocktails each and split deviled eggs, disco fries and the pizza jam sandwich. The food was delicious, large portioned and well paced. The total bill was just over 100 dollars which feels unheard of for a dinner with alcohol in philly. Can’t wait to go back!“

“Can’t count how many times we’ve been here but here is my review of Silk City.

The food was excellent. Can’t go wrong in any order. Loved the ambiance. The drinks were good. It’s good to have a reservation as this place gets packed every time, but they could accommodate you to the diner section. Service at the diner section usually takes longer. Lots of parking around the area, but it’s better if you take Lyft or Uber. Staff were amazing and really friendly.

“Tonight had to have been my best experience ever at the Ritz Diner. We walked in and were promptly seated. Soon after our waitress Kristy came over and had the best attitude and such a great personality. We have been there many times before and service had always been ehh ok but tonight from the time we walked in the door we were treated like royalty. She was so attentive and friendly with not only us but as well as all of the other people. Kristy is truly the gem of the Ritz Diner. I will be recommending to all of my friends for sure“

“Huge fan, I’ve never had a bad sandwich at Johnny Hot’s, until today 8/30/24. I was supposed to have just pork roll on a steak roll with spicy mustard, no egg and no cheese. The pork roll is usually cut very thin with a nice braise on it. It had egg & cheese on it. The egg & cheese were warm the meat was cool, no grill color to it. By the time I took the egg & cheese off there was hardly any pork roll, very disappointed. It was “no change” Friday, so I gave my apprentice 15 dollars for a sandwich I couldn’t even eat.“

“The Black horse diner outdid themselves in helping provide outstanding chicken pot pies to celebrate my dad's 90th birthday. the pot pies from the Black horse diner are one of his favorites and I wanted to serve them the party I had.... the team at the diner was so helpful and accommodating and the food was absolutely over the top outstanding. “Let me start by saying don't go in here expecting a traditional restaurant experience. This is an old school, fast paced, self-serve/take-out style diner that is CASH ONLY (has an ATM). That, however, is EXACTLY what I want for good breakfast on a busy weekday morning. And good doesn't begin to describe it. Staff are a well oiled machine used to a very busy fast-paced environment who are there to get your order, give you your food, and let you move on with your day.
Now the food. Let me say, it isn't hard to make good home fries, but these were AMAZING. Onions and peppers in perfectly made home fries with perfect consistency and a taste to die for. No need to season them as they were perfectly seasoned. In my almost 41 years of life, these are the best damned home fries I've ever had! My eggs were made perfectly over medium with wonderful runny yolk like I love them and were wonderfully flavorful. Sausage patties were delicious as well, partner got pancakes that were fluffy and sweet even before the butter and syrup. Excellent diner, fast service. For anyone that likes this kind of place, it is up there for best ever!“

“There are 3 Foundational Black Americans working in John's Diner, and I'm telling you, if it wasn't for those 3 pros, John's Diner would be out of business. Also they now accept debit card payment for like a year now which is good so you don't have to carry a lot of cash especially around that neighborhood (if you know what I mean).“
