“This food truck happened to be parked less than a block from the hotel we were staying at and it was after midnight and nearly everything was closed except for the McDonalds and a pizza joint. Hankering for some fresh food, we gave this food truck a try and we were very happy we did. The food was fresh and very delicious! And the prices were much more reasonable than what we found in other Mexican restaurants in midtown. We went back 3 more times during our 10 day stay in NYC. Highly recommended.“

I called at last minute to put in a catering order and they absolutely did all they can to make sure I had all I needed in the short amount of time I provided. Definitely made a mitigating happen. “I finally made it to Cocina Papa Andres after seeing all the hype on social media and it absolutely lived up to it. I ordered the chimi de carne de res, and it instantly took me back to the Dominican Republic.

The sauce was spot on, the meat was juicy and full of flavor (not dry at all), and the bread had that perfect texture, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They also nailed the balance with the cabbage.

Hands down, this is the best chimi I’ve had in New Jersey. Honestly, it can compete with some of the best chimis I’ve had in Washington Heights and Dyckman in New York.
