“The food and service are excellent but its incredibly noisy and the further back you are the noisier it gets. I think the cathedral ceiling in the back makes it very echoey. Putting sound dampening tiles on the ceiling or hanging some tapestries on the walls would go a long way to bring down the harsh echo. The food is absolutely delicious, fresh and healthy. If we decide the noise is too much we might resort to only ordering food to pick up and take home. I took off one star for the noise, otherwise its a great place.“

“Amazing food! My husband and I stopped by for Friday night dinner. We tried the fried calamari, Pad Kana Moo Grob (Sautéed crispy pork belly with chinese broccoli in garlic sauce.), Pork Chops Vegetable Garlic Sauce, crab fried rice and for dessert, the mango coconut sticky rice. “Can't beleive I've never been here before, but my friend took me here last night and I was very impressed. Chicken satay was delicious, and that peanut sauce! To die for. The massaman short rib was definitely my favorite, and was great with a side od sticky rice. Pad thai was also excellent. Service was great aswell. Wish they had mango sticky rice, but what a great spot!“

“After my visit to Thailand, this is my favorite restaurant in New York. The food is affordable and flavorful. The space is so cozy and relaxing. Great for mommy & child outings. The service is good and the wait to order is not long. It is also great to order take out as the food arrives hot and holds the same flavor. My favorite platters are their fried rice, pad Thai, Thai ice tea, shrimp rolls, mango sticky rice and drunken noodles.

“To me, Thai food is like Chinese takeout. There are restaurants everywhere, but it's difficult to find a place that does it exceptionally well. On a night when my husband and I found ourselves craving some Thai food, we took a chance on the Yelp algorithm of suggestions and landed at the Thai Shack's door.

The weekday lunch special is a great deal. A light salad and spring roll are served with some preselected entrees, and it's here I have to give the peanut dressing some hearty props. I don't know what they put in that sauce, but it was all I could do to keep myself from licking that little bowl clean. For our entrees, we both went with noodles. I was initially disappointed that the serving size seemed smaller than expected, but don't let the plate fool you - it's enough. At least, it was for me because I felt full well before I reached the bottom. My beef pad see ew was incredible, with tender pieces of beef and a delectable sauce that made me want to spoon it over rice. My husband also liked his pad thai, with lots of soft chicken pieces. If we had any compunctions with our meal, it was that our noodles were a little heavily sauced and teetering just slightly on the salty side.

Service here is friendly. That, along with the cozily dressed interior, makes dining in a pleasure. I was especially appreciative that water glasses are filled from water bottles instead of tap (say what you want about food in Jersey, but the taste of its unfiltered tap water is absolute trash). The kind woman who took our order was open to small customizations (such as undressed salad and added spice in my pad see ew, which is normally presented as a non-spicy dish).“

It’s right by the train station in the little corner so it’s definitely a hidden gem. I will say that parking may be limited because of commuting people parking in the lot.
