“Came here (after a quick Google search for Kosher food) the morning after a wedding in the area. Best culinary decision I’ve made all year. They will make you anything you want (within reason) even if not on the menu. I grew up in Texas not keeping kosher, and have been craving good Mexican food - something not common in NYC or on the kosher restaurant circuit. I asked for a breakfast burrito with relatively low expectations, given the above. They knocked it out of the park. Just like I remember, if not better. I guess I should not have been surprised given the chef is a veteran from Oaxaca. Fresh coffee, friendly service, and attention to detail - they even use Mexican-inspired ceramic mugs and plates. Run, don’t walk, here. I’m honestly considering having them cater my simchas in Brooklyn. It’s that good. This place is a gem.“

“Food was fantastic, we ordered off the vegetarian menu that uses pseudo meats, and would never guess they weren't meat. The seasame chicken was by far our favourite but it was all good. Its incredibly filling, hot and textures were right. Atmosphere is what you'd expect from a Jewish Chinese restaurant. Jews at the counter, Chinese cooking. The experience alone was worth the stop! Will definitely be coming back next time we are in town!“

“Reuben catered our son's bar mitzvah - Friday night, kiddush and Shabbat day lunch. The food was amazing! The presentation beautiful! We didn't want the standard fare and he worked with us to come up with a delicious and unique menu. He also provided delicious vegetarian options. I would definitely use him again and highly recommend him.“

I don't know why everyone doesn't do this.. when you add the cost of uncooked items.. your time and energy.. i think this works out to cost you less.. and the time you enjoy with your family.. is priceless!!! “We remember as children our father bringing us sloppy joes home for the holidays from another deli on Cedar Lane. We were so happy to find the same quality sandwiches at Foster Village Deli. We have ordered now for several years their platters on Christmas, Thanksgiving and Birthdays. Kid-friendliness: The music is extremely loud and overbearing. Not for children...more like nightclub music by day. Not a fit.“

We were embarrassed, though, because we took somebody from out of town there and there are holes in the ceiling from leaks that have obviously been there a long time, unpainted plaster on the wall (with a ceiling leak above it), and the table was dirty and looked like it had not been cleaned well after more than one set of customers. With a little TLC EJ's could be one of our top choices for a dairy meal again. Until then, we won't bring anyone else there and will avoid it ourselves.“
