The owner (I think) was incredibly understanding when I asked for a spicier platter and even gave me extra sauce without any extra charge. The food was freshly cooked to order, and the portion size was perfect. Great customer service, fantastic food, and overall, a top-notch experience. 5/5 for sure!“

“I just inhaled the best burger in town. Finally got in to try Heemo’s-Sicklerville and I’m mad it took me so long! I’ve had them saved to try a few months but they’ve been here for years! Absolutely delicious! Long overdue trying and WE WILL BE BACK! Amazing fries, onion rings- well cooked and so good!!! Burger is thinner than I’m use to- more falafel thickness but it actually FIT THE BUN! Instead of half the size like most fast food junk. And I’m not still hungry. Real food, delicious food, extremely kind and efficient staff! (They got a MASSIVE order as I was there and now I have to try those foods next time! Haha) Thank you for opening up a second location for us to stumble into! Sorry it took us so long but you’ve got us hooked. Truly. Try this place. You won’t regret it. Get the heemos fries! “My first time having a shrimp gyro and I can confidently say, I will order that every single time!

My order had rice, peppers, onion, white sauce, lettuce, tomato, and very fresh, well-seasoned shrimp. It was delicious and a perfect size for lunch.

The gentleman in there who I assume was the owner, was so nice and sweet. I could adopt him as my grandpa, but will have to wait till my next visit to discuss the details, lol.

“We found Nafi Food Express truck in Philly at 34th and Market 8 years ago when my son was craving Indian food after a very long and scary hospitalization at CHOP for RSV. We've loved it ever since! The meat is tender and tasty, the salad is spectacular and the owner is very nice and personable. Most importantly to us, the cart is clean and the owner is proud of his history of cleanliness. If you love Indian food this is THE place to get it. We would rather have this as a treat than some of the fancy Indian restaurants we've tried including Tiffin and Ekta and New Delhi. Plus, the amount of food is fantastic in size.“

No seating so that was the only reason for a low atmosphere score.

“Outstanding! We picked BKG based on the reviews and I must say they are right. The food and service is amazing.

We all chose to be adventurous and go with the specials recommended by our waiter Fathi. That gentleman exudes charisma and is the embodiment of good service. We loved everything we were served even though they were all exotic dishes, which can be a gamble.

FYI. There are no alcoholic drinks and you cannot BYOB. We were disappointed about that at first because we like to enjoy a couple of drinks with a nice meal but that was soon forgotten. We travel a good bit and have enjoyed nice meals in many countries. This one ranks high on our list. Bon Kif Grill is a do not miss.“

We even made the occasional pilgrimage there once we lived in separate places around Philly.Majit (and later Salman) always whipped up the freshest food, had a smile on their face, and were glad to talk with us. Salt of the earth.If you like Halal you owe it to yourself to get in front of the Fishtown Planet Fitness and order a lamb/falafel combo platter with your sauces of choice.“

“The fahsa was good. Interesting fava beans. Bread freshly made. Fish was a little bland but generous. Very kind and attentive waitress. No ethanol. Feels more like a take out, but has about 4-5 tables in a a rather small space.

Parking: Went on a Sunday around 5PM, easy to street park“

“We came across this place while we were in Philly last month,July. We were looking for a place to dine. It was our first time with Mediterranean cuisine. Positive ambience as soon as we walk in, our server ‘s name ELIF ( hope i remember it right)guided as through with menu selection and showed the best costumer service . I appreciated the complimentary bread and the hummus while waiting for the entree.I love the taste of it as freshly baked from the oven. Food portions are just right. The price is also decent. We concluded with a Turkey tea…it amazingly taste good. Will definitely visit this place again….to Elif,thank you very much.“

“I have recently become a frequent customer of Al Baraka and Falafel king next door. The market has quality meat selection for great prices and I prefer it to other grocery stores. The owners are some of the kindest people I have ever met. Abu Tata is always generous in helping me pick products! Abu Said has gone out of his way to make me a special order of knafeh (kunafa) which has become my new favorite dessert in the world! I have since tried it from other shops and restaurants but no where makes it as good as Al Baraka! I recommend everyone stop in and shop around and try something different! And definitely try the knafeh because it is out of this world!“

“Visiting family in Philly and wanted to try a halal Philly Cheesesteak. Had some In The Uk with varied quality. Saad’s is way way ahead. Big, juicy, very very tasty. Reasonably priced, staff are lovely. Place is set up like a diner and kept very very clean. We are here a few times during our trip, tried others but had to come back. Eat j. And takeaway service is good. My recommendations. Cheesesteak with mushrooms, kofta hoagie. Had a chat with Saad, nice guy. Looked after us.“

“In the heart of north philly, this is a pretty solid place for some Chinese takeout. I was worried it wouldn’t be like the American spots since it’s halal but it compares pretty well!
Food size was small but the prices aren’t crazy.“
