“My eight year old is very picky. Very picky. And I want him to understand that Taco Bell is not Mexican food. So we went in hopes he would at least try some real tacos. Well, he did. I don’t know how you did it, El Macho but he polished off a full plate of four carnitas tacos! The waitress was nice enough to just give him meat and added cheese but he devoured them. We will be returning! Five stars!“

“Excellent restaurant serving a variety of Mexican and Mexican-inspired dishes, and some Sinaloan options like aguachile. It's hard to go wrong with any of the guacamoles, starters, or tacos. The aguachile and ceviches we've tried have been good. Was pleasantly surprised by their cocktails. Particularly like the Fridita and the Paloma. The couple that runs the restaurant is very kind. Yes, like others have mentioned, it is a bit pricey, but it's absolutely worth it. The food is consistently delicious and you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. My husband loves their tacos and burrito, and I’m a big fan of their elotes, tacos and taco bowls. Even my 79-year-old mother, who normally isn’t a fan of Mexican food, loves theirs. That alone says a lot!

Their tres leches is also incredible. I’ve sampled a lot of tres leches cakes in my life and theirs easily jumped to the top of my list.

Beyond the food, the customer service is just as impressive. Two of the owners, Jay and Kike, are always so friendly, accommodating, and helpful. They even offer delivery, and their driver, Juan, is just as awesome! In this day and age, it’s rare to find a Mexican spot that’s both authentic and Latino-owned... and Just Tacos is exactly that. We’re more than happy to keep supporting them!“

“I’ve been coming to this small business for about 3/4 years now and although it’s just a taco truck I know enough that all I have to do is pick up my order and eat it at my house or enjoy it with my partner at the nearby park. I’m not gonna make a review about the “environment” of a taco truck and make them feel obligated to my seating needs for that I’ll just to a RESTAURANT it’s a perfect grab and go. The staff is very friendly and hard working people, for as busy as they get their customer service is consistently great. I want to mention how hard it is to find authentic AL PASTOR TACOS that are supposed to be made like how they make it here. The tortilla is always fresh, the meat is seasoned perfectly and you can tell by the color on the meat and the salsa verde is also perfect if you are into spicy fresh homemade salsa just the right texture not watery like others that I’ve had around the area.“

“Everything here is SO FRESH. I came here with my family of 5 and all of our dishes were extraordinary. Everything came out piping hot and very delicious. We ordered the guacamole, shrimp with garlic sauce, mixed fajitas, chicken burritos and breaded chicken and breaded fish filet. “No matter who you are or where you’re from, there’s a strong chance that you’re familiar with the meaning of “Taco Tuesday,” which exists across the US, from Los Angeles to small-town Tennessee, from food trucks in the barrios to high-end restaurants in hipster haunts. For some of us, it might simply call for going out and getting tacos or even just preparing our own.

Situated in the middle of a residential neighborhood in Roselle Park, this establishment is set inside a small corner suburban home where some of my colleagues decided on takeout, which came highly recommended. Upon arrival at Taqueria La Casita, or “The Little House Taqueria,” we were confronted outside by the neon signage reading “Tacos Open” and Mexican flags, among other pieces of colorful decor.

Greeted by the staff inside an un-air-conditioned cozy dining room decked out in its Mexican splendor with 4 tables. In the back, a colorful menu with nearly a dozen different types of tacos and an array of other dishes written by hand.

We opted for individual orders containing 4 tacos with Shrimp, Chicken, Steak, and Pork. While waiting, we couldn’t help but notice the trompo—the spinning, shawarma-adjacent log of marinated pork used for Al Pastor, which translates to “in the style of the shepherd.” Originating in Puebla, this came at the hands of Lebanese immigrants during the 1930s.

The tortilla itself was freshly made, of the corn variety. They were stuffed to the brim with meat prepared in front of us and served with cucumbers and lime. Fresh condiments of diced onion, cilantro, and avocado were separated in their own container, and all were needed. Various sauces accompanied in small containers, such as green, which was jalapeño-based; the darker red salsa was smoky from dried and smoked chipotle chilis; and neon orange, which was a sauce made from chili de arbol and tomato. The guacamole was absolutely delicious along with the chips, and we couldn’t get enough. The portion was a healthy size.

The service was fast; Maribel was friendly and accommodating. Authentic, fresh, and affordable—we can recommend this place.“

I only deducted a star on the food since the serving size was a bit less than a full meal, but maybe I'm just a gavone? They give you three and they're decently sized. Flavor, service, everything was great no complaints. I recall the prices being decent as well.“
