“I went for the very first time for New Jersey Deathfest and found it to be the ideal venue for hard-core and metal. The sound is actually top notch and the staff is very friendly. The gritty decor and atmosphere is very reminiscent of a lot of the noteworthy DIY venues I used to go to in NYC during the 90's for metal and hardcore shows which made it all the more nostalgic for me. I would definitely return here for another show in the future.“

There were 21 of us all together and everyone was well cared for by server Lily and the rest of the awesome staff. “We threw a drop-in Buffet dinner for family and friends at Houlihans for 30 to 35 people. The room is spacious and accommodated everyone comfortably. Our server Eileen was excellent and the food was delicious. Michelle who assisted with the catering was very detail oriented and help me plan a great event. “Caught up with a friend for drinks and dinner...the place is quaint, with a great, lively vibe. We sat at the bar and were greeted by Linda, one of the bartenders. She was absolutely a joy, smiling and chatting while she served us up our drinks, then meticulously prepared the dipping oil for our warm bread. After taking our order, Linda served us two very large portions. I had a pasta dish with rigatoni that was made fresh that day. (The bar is connected to an Italian restaurant, which is a separate business, but they work seamlessly to provide customers in both establishments a terrific dining experience. The live music was fabulous, with a great mix of classic hits performed by very talented musicians. We opted not to get dessert and left with our bellies full and our hearts content. Parking was a little bit of a challenge with it being a Saturday night, but Linda informed us to use the VFW parking lot the next time around. Can't wait to check out Karaoke night on Wednesdays. For mains it was Beef and Ginger and Prawn Fried Rice, again both excellent. So for 2 starters, 2 mains and 4 drinks it came to 58 euros, even excellenter ?…music choice was a bit different in that it was dance oriented but wasn’t out of place. “Love the place, food, environment, staff etc. Victor and Evan do a great job keeping GRI an inviting (and growing) restaurant with that small mom pop family feel. Throughout the years I have had many events and parties here including my businesses annual Christmas party. A lot of places you do not get to meet the owner of the family business. Evan and Victor are always checking up on guests, on the floor, delivering food, chatting it up, and being a part of the dining experience.“

“I’ve been to The Side Door before, but I’ve never had a bartender like Crystal. She is hands down one of the best bartenders I’ve ever had! I originally stopped by for just one quick birthday drink, but her friendly personality, great energy, and amazing service convinced us to stay much longer than we planned. We ended up spending way more than we expected, and it was worth every penny because she made the whole experience so much fun.

I was honestly surprised to find out she’s a new bartender here because she made it feel like she’d been doing it for years. She was attentive, welcoming, and knew exactly how to keep the good vibes going.

Crystal truly made my birthday drinks memorable. I’ll definitely be coming back, and I’ll be recommending The Side Door to all of my friends—as long as Crystal is behind the bar! 10/10 experience.“
