“Edit: Raising this from 1 to 4 star after speaking with the owner. It seems this was an outlier situation and they were very kind and receptive.

We came in at 8:20 PM (place closes at 9). The woman behind the counter seemed very detached and exhausted so I tried to be sympathetic. My burrito was a magnificent slop, not rolled properly at all. The soda fountain was out of CO2, so all the soda was flat - I made a comment but the employee didn't care even though she had charged me for the drink. The food wasn't bad but nothing remarkable or exciting.“

We ate here Sunday, 10/06 just before the finale of the N.J. Hispanic Film Fest conclusion at the The Vogel Theater.
The place is small, tight, but the food is good!
Food orders were chicken tacos (Tacos de Pollo) and chicken sopes (Sopes de Pollo). Both very good, filled with a lot of seasoned chicken.Tortillas are hand made.Salsa was good, as well as the side of Guacamole; more than enough for two people. Prices were fair. And the place is BYOB. I would recommend this for a quick, reasonably priced, authentic Mexican meal.
Bathroom was updated and fairly clean. Service was good!

“My husband and I stumbled across this restaurant driving to our destination. It does gets a little busy, we had to wait about 10-15 minutes for a table but it was worth the wait. You can taste the freshness and I am sure someone’s abuela is in the back kitchen. The food came out hot and Delicious! Everyone was friendly and the atmosphere was welcoming. We both agreed that traveling 1 hr for authentic Mexican food is worth the drive.“

“horrible experience & poor food quality. we ordered $90 of food tonight. first when trying to order i asked about the birria tacos in their Facebook post. the woman who answered told me that they dont call them birria tacos, they are called barbacoa. they required us to order from uber eats even though they advertise in town delivery. so we did. the tortillas with green sauce is rico's version of a chalupa. it was inedible. we ordered a steak chimichanga - it was very fatty. the quesadilla was delivered in the form of a taco. somehow an order for nachos we put in uber eats, was deleted. when we called to let them know somethings were not correct in the order and we were really dissapointed we were told this is not taco bell. at the end of the unhelpful conversation about their poor service and food quality, the final response was, "You got everything you deserved." very unprofessional. all around a bad experience. the food was not good. we love to support local businesses but will not be back to Rico Taco Mex 2.“

Truth be told, we had no idea what the second dish was as she surprised us at her own discretion. So, so good!! The two young ladies in the front were very nice and spoke English. We need to support these small businesses so they can continue to make amazing dishes from Mexico and around the world!!

Wheelchair accessibility: It is very difficult to get around if you are in a wheelchair. Parking is difficult, and the place itself is small inside. Maybe you could order ahead and have someone bring it to you. Call ahead and ask.“
