“This cute poke spot is really a gem. The ingredients are always fresh and delicious and they’re mixed together thoughtfully, without being drowned in overwhelming sauce. That said, the sauces are killer, especially the spicy mayo and I’ve also heard good things about the sweet chili. And the staff! They’re so kind and patient and willing to help you negotiate the large variety of toppings and combinations. I‘be tried a lot of poke places in the New York and this one is definitely one of the most reliable.“

“Classic corporate bowl spot. The line gets long between 12:15 and whenever you want to go, so go early. If you are NOT going for lunch during your workday you should go somewhere else! I like that they have cold and hot protein options and I like to ask for half zucchini noodles and half brown rice because I am very health-conscious. If you are not health-conscious, I am not trying to slight you but rather state my experience and feelings. Thanks.“

I have had the milk tea, too, which I really enjoy, but because I'm a routine kind of person I haven't had a chance to try other menu items. They sound good though! I loved the choices of protein and salad mixes... however- although I ordered 3 proteins, the salmon, shrimp n Ahi tuna; I wasn’t crazy about the Ahi tuna. It had no taste and the texture was spongy- my choice of the sesame dressing left the salad very wet and soggy by the time I got it home! I suggest eating there or ask for the dressing on the side!!! Bubble Tea’s & ice cream flavors were AWSOME!!! I highly recommend...“

“Very cute decor and entry than a upper level of seatings. Love the option of creating your own bowl. Pen and menu ready for you place your own order. Wasnt much service or greetings exchanged either but just got some grins. Service point vise definitely needs improvements. We created our own bowls. Love and enjoyed every part of it. All fresh ingredients. Tuna and salmon so fresh. Portion wasn't as big as my 8 yr old daughter could finish her bowl and still not full. We also ordered 2 light bulb drinks. The pina colda was really good. I always ask for less sweet and they made it. Got pineapple bits in it. The passion fruit came with jelly. Was too sweet even requested to make it less sweet. Overall we enjoy our lunch. We pay for fresh ingredients and good quality food and received it. The poke bowls were delish with compliment of their sauces. We got to try them. Definitly go back if we are around the area. Again services can improve.“

L&L Hawaiian Barbecue serves up a variety of Hawaiian comfort foods from plates of barbecued meat + rice + macaroni salad to saimin (noodle dishes) to musubis and burgers & sandwiches.

picked up dinner here back in July. meant to review sooner, but LIFE.

ordered BBQ Chicken plate-- thin slices of chicken in bbq sauce. the chicken is a mix of sweet and savory. thin grilled slices of meatiness. the rice is essential bc it soaks up the bbq sauce and grilled chicken flavors. the Hawaiian style macaroni salad brings the tasty carbs of tanginess & creaminess with a touch of sweetness. the way the plate mixes flavors into satisfying umami-ness. the helping is generous and i split into two meals because there was so much of everything.

SPAM Musubi--served warm. grilled spam + rice, wrapped in crispy seaweed. this was fine. all the flavors are there. however I would stick with the bigger bites on the menu or another side order os macaroni salad.

the interior is well-maintain, clean, and casual sit-down interior. there's a decent amount of tables if you want to dine in. the staff is friend;y and accommodating. my to-go order was neatly wrapped up and bagged.

if you are looking for a different kind of comfort food, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue has got a lot of options for you. it's also nice to have a place to grab some enjoyable Hawaiian calories without a 10-hour plane flight! though, i'd still rather be in Maui or the Big Island--when are getting that teleportation thing going?? Ha“

“Decided to try this place out good prices, however the only bad thing was how my spicy salmon was blended up, not my cup of tea I think regular salmon with spicy mayo would’ve been better. Don’t understand why some poke places do that don’t blend the spicy salmon!!! But other than that it was good and I enjoyed the shrimp gyoza“

“Service is always great. But the quality of the veggie burger has gone downhill :( They use a different type of veg patty now that isn't as tasty. And always seems to be very overcooked or undercooked to the point that it's inedible. I really hope they bring back the old ingredients because it used to be my fav dish to order!“

I accidentally placed my order at another location and didn’t realize it until I went to pick up the order. The manager overheard and he was so kind. He asked me to just order it again at the counter and NO CHARGE!

The manager didn’t have to do this but he took care of me. It’s windy day today and I did not spend my entire lunch time to walk another half mile one way to retrieve my lunch and come back.

Thank you Poke Bowl! It is hard to find this kind of customer care at a fast food lunch spot these days. I will be back, like always.“

“Been here several times. Decided to come at 7:25pm on a Sunday (it supposedly closes at 8:00), and they turned away every customer after us (starting at 7:30). Luckily we were unaffected, but I felt bad for the people expecting food and leaving empty-handed.“

“I stopped in Epicerie Boulud WTC in August 2021. It has a great view of the Oculus. I got an almond croissant and a latte. Both were good. Unfortunately I spilled my latte all over. The staff lady was so kind. She got me another latte free of charge. Very kind. Another staff came with a mop to clean up the mess I had made. I would recommend Epicerie Boulud as a rest stop during a visit to the World Trade Center.“

“4.5 / 5.0 - I was in Chinatown and stopped by late afternoon for a late lunch at this casual, counter-service poke spot.
It was nice and clean inside, with seating available along the walls.

I chose the Ponzu Salmon ($18+), which had salmon, avocado, cucumber, shiso, tobiko and katsuo panko.
It came with wasabi ponzu, which I asked for on the side because I do not like wasabi. The staff was insistent that the wasabi flavor was mild, but I simply do not like the flavor and ended up eating most of the bowl without it.
The bowl itself was delicious and I especially loved the flavor that the shiso added.

Chinatown isn’t the first place you’d think of for Hawaiian cuisine, but I’d recommend trying if you like poke.“
