“While the food and customer service was quite excellent, the seating was extremely cramped and uncomfortable. The seating in the restaurant used to be well spaced and fine, but as of recent, the tables and chairs have become so cramped and uncomfortable to sit while not feeling in someone else's way or requiring staff to ask over your shoulder to talk to other customers.
If you have issues with tight spaces, its best to avoid here until they reduce the number of tables on the floor.“

“I had heard so many good things about Nikko's so I stopped by for a take out meal the other day. From the time I walked through the door, I had a great experience. The decor is really nice, the restaurant clean and the people working there are even nicer and very helpful. I ordered the seafood hibachi entree. Our group is on the introverted side, and a tough crowd to boot. However, within minutes the chef had us engaged and on our toes throughout. At the end, we received a balloon on top of the already superb showmanship.

“One of our favorite Japanese restaurants. It is a small place in a shopping center with some seating (we have never had a problem getting seated and definitely plenty of folks who do pickup).

We usually get a mix of the vegetarian sushi options, different appetizers, and I always get their fried rice...it is my favorite. Our picker eater daughter is always excited to go here. The staff are always very friendly and the food comes out pretty quickly. Definitely recommend if you are in the area and want something quick and tasty.“

“Came for dinner on Friday around 6:30pm. Recommend making reservation on Friday Evening otherwise take a seat at the bar or will need to wait. The fish was fresh and presentation done well. Seeing the chefs put the dishes together was a nice experience as well. A bit slow with the order but most likely its because the place was full. Would recommend 18 pieces sashimi, salmon tartar and tako su. Over all a great place to stop by if you want fresh sushi and want to bring in your liquor.“

“For my family, this is where the highest quality and best prepared ‘Japanese flavors and Asian-inspired dishes [lives] in the heart of Red Bank, NJ’. First restaurant I thought of recently when in dire need of a comforting and safe meal that was both familiar and yet exciting at the same time. If I was to embody Remy the Rat from Disney Pixar’s ‘Ratatouille’, this would be my ‘Gusteau’s’. My culinary sanctuary. For many, asian cuisine is seen as a last minute idea and has been portrayed in media as the ‘take-out go to’ which often flattens and stereotypes the flavors and experiences associated with the cuisine. To me, this restaurant is more than a last minute decision. It feels like a homemade meal just for you, dine-in or takeout.“

I liked it better than sushi that cost 3x as much, everything was really fresh and the special rolls were really creative combinations, we had the Krusty Krab roll and the Black Angel Roll and were blown away. The fried rice had a really great flavor too, a sign of a great chef to make fried rice memorable!! We eat sushi a lot and I've never felt so strongly about a place that I went and wrote a review, this is really something special!!“

“I’ve been living in Freehold for 27 years, yet I couldn’t even name another food court restaurant, let alone endear myself to any so much as I have Little Tokyo. When I was a little girl, I would so look forward to their INIMITABLE teriyaki dark meat chicken samples, and I spent my first wages ever on an actual meal from this place. It is a time-tested fixture at the Freehold mall, a must-have if you ever work or shop here and still a reliably fast and delicious option for me when I am in the area. I’m pretty sure I’ve been helped by the exact same woman at the front of the line my entire life, and she gives me a big smile every time I see her. I’ve tried teriyaki/bourbon chicken at other malls all over the state, and this is the only one that is not only delicious, but is prepared in way that is not greasy. This is truly the only place I will go for Americanized Chinese food and enjoy it at all. My go-to: 2 sides, 2 entrees - string beans and plantains, double teriyaki chicken. Even post-pandemic, the price is unbeatable for the amount of food you get.“

Everything was so delicious, the 3 of us still in town the next day went back the next night for round two.I personally enjoyed the Red Curry Chicken and Beef Pad Thai. Especially of note is their General Tso's Chicken which was ordered both nights, as it is mostly chicken, not cheap breading like a lot of other places. The Shrimp Shumi were also reordered on day two. The prices were completely reasonable as well. I would 100% return to this restaurant for round three.

Parking: Parking was easy as not a lot of people were there when we were, however I could see it getting crowded when busy.
