“Absolutely lovely selection of products: from unique fruits and vegetables to filet mignon, pierogi, incredible baked goods, jams, pepper sauces, candles, cooking oils, specialty sardines, and so much more. There’s a lot here that you simply don’t find at a typical grocery store.

That said, I was disappointed that many of the peppers were extremely soft and not very fresh.

I also find the checkout experience uncomfortable.

I don’t appreciate being prompted for a tip at a cash register for a regular grocery purchase, only to receive a snarly expression when I select “none.” A customer shouldn’t feel pressured or judged for choosing not to tip. ShopRite, for example, doesn’t put customers in that position.

“Tonight me and my fiancé ordered dinner from here. I got wonton soup because i wasn't that hungry and ended up eating the whole container. Hands down the BEST wonton soup I’ve ever had. It was too thick and hard to take a bite out of and on the too-sweet-side. Perhaps smaller and slightly thinner cookies would be better. Also, it would be helpful if the ice cream cookies were already sandwiched and frozen to be able to eat better. Otherwise, a great little novelty ice cream shop.“

“We ate at Black Forest Inn tonight. We did not realize a reservation was needed tonight as we are not in area. We were still accommodated by a friendly staff, service was very efficient, quick with refill with drinks. I love the decor of the restaurant. The experience is great. Food is amazingly. We did make reservations to return Dec 13 for the German Christmas event.“

“I've been buying bagels here since I moved to the area in 1997. I can from Long Island where there were many bagel places. Nothing can compare to the Bagel Station, it is in it's own league. Parking can be difficult, but I try to go there when it's not peak times. Bagels are large, covered with seeds, taste great with nothing on them. If you're in the area, it's a must stop.“

“Just tried this place out to see if the high rating was real or not. The real reason is we hoped the positive reviews were true. We got tacos with rice and beans. Simple dish, but it's smell and taste were through the roof perfection. Three warm savory corn tortillas for each and each delectable. It reminded me of the best Mexican street food, only better, I had a seat! The staff is basically all family and THAT alone says something about the care behind every dish.“

Overall, we had a nice family visit. The food was okay, although our order took a while and came out wrong. Our waiter was a good guy and genuinely tried to help, which I appreciated.

The mushrooms with melted cheese were good. I wouldn’t recommend the beef, and the salad could use more olive oil. My biggest recommendation for Jefferson would be to get the food out faster and make sure orders are correct.

That said, I actually enjoyed our experience more than I think I would have at Windlass. Jefferson is a great place for a family trip — beautiful views, fresh air, and plenty for the kids to enjoy. 🦆 Ask about feeding the ducks!
