“As an expat Manhattanite who has been lucky enough to visit some of NYC's finest restaurants, I always tread carefully into what my friends have called a "great" suburban restaurant, as I have been disappointed too many times. Blue Bottle Cafe had the typical Hopewell-Princeton feel, an old home converted into a restaurant with several rooms, adored with a few interesting oil paintings. The first disappointment was a wait staff with no personality, no panache and no class. The hostess/wait person sat us, after some confusion as to where to put us, and then pulled out a pen and asked if we were ready to order or wanted more time, much the way a short order cook would. When we asked for tap water without ice (when will suburban restaurants start doing the smart thing, and simply put down a large carafe of water (NO ICE) on the table, so we don't have to keep asking for refills nor do we have to deal with freezing, too-cold-to sip water?) we were simply ignored. At this point, I was thinking, this is not going to be anything special. But then...the food arrived. My friend and I shared a stupendous Brussels sprouts starter, cold, crunchy and touched off by some white, cream-like sauce that was a slice of heaven. The bread, which I am told comes from a local bread company (also, the bread at a restaurant speaks volumes of both care and quality of owner/chef) was rustic, flavorful and served with already softened butter (a nice touch). My main, crispy scallops, were silky tender and mouth-wateringly tasty. And the chocolate profiteroles for dessert managed to taste decadent and light at the same time. To the owners, I say this: please take the ice out of your water, and find a way to re-train your staff. They do not measure up to the elegance and quality of your food.”
“Amazing food...amazing staff. The expansion is amazing. There is mthe re room. More tables both inside and out. The food is as great as ever. Try the crab cakes....try the adult grilled cheese...save room for their scratch baked ”
“Best shrimp enchiladas around. Guacamole was also very smooth and tasty. Flan was a perfect finisher. This place is in the middle of small town Hopewell so parking is on the street. Owner was on site preparing and serving and smiling. Seating was comfortable but on this chilly winter day with the side door opening regularly it was a bit chilly inside. Thankfully the hot seasoning (you can order your sauce mild medium or hot)was just right to keep my insides warm. Serving size was large enough to bring half home. Price was right. Definately a place to return to.”
“"Just realized that my lunch plans are whale-y awesome! Fudgy the Whale from Carvel is joining me for lunch, and I'm feeling so whale-cited about it! #WhaleOfALunch #FudgyTheWhale #CarvelCravings" Always clean and friendly here”
“Classic diner right off rt.31. Perfectly priced, large portions, I had the Hot Open Face Roast Beef with Gravy. Duuuuuuuude. I also saw someone else got the Hot Turkey. Looked damn good too.”
“Best Pizzas I've ever had! It's always crowded but the food comes fast. The online ordering buttons are a little confusing. Both locations close too soon.”
“If you find their beer, buy it. Even styles I'm typically not a fan of are good. Releases are sporadic and hard to get, but typically available on draught next door. My only complaint would be that I wish availability of their brews was better”
“Your juices are always super fresh and delicious! I highly recommend that everyone try it. My favorites are Midnight mint, Spiced cider, Just dandy and Beet it. Guaranteed to get addicted! Also love the limited blends! They also have a juice subscription plan where you get juice as often as you like! amazing!”
“3/27/24 - my 1st visit to this fabulous gem Italian Restaurant: Antimo’s. So worth the short trip from Flemington on a Wednesday evening! Max the server — sweet and charismatic, kudos to Antimo the chef. The eggplant parm was a huge hit with very large portion (took over half home) and the margharita pizza was divine. (two meals worth from the “individual” size). Staff surprised friend with a candle in a cannoli for a special birthday. Cannoli was the best birthday cake! Dined in but also ordered steak stromboli and meatballs to bring home. They both smell Devine in car on way home! Highly recommend and I will be back! Definitely recommend checking this place out for a fabulous meal — dine in or take-out (cute, quaint dinning room has a humorous surprise parked in the corner!)”
“Primarily a take out place, with that said I have gone several times and have enjoyed the food.Vegetarian options: Vegables, rice and tofu dishesParking: Plenty of parking”
“I use every chance I get to stop into Boro Bean! Today I had the Guac Panini- scrambled eggs were fluffy, cheese was delicious, guacamole was FRESH, and the panini was toasted to perfection. It was NOT messy either. They gave a fork and knife also, just in case, which I loved.Coffee was a great brew- strong but not acidic or bitter. So refreshing to have this place!”
“I found out about Troon brewery, ordered my allotment of beer, very good. We decided to try brick farm tavern. So very good make reservations. And they have Troon on ”
“They have already made breakfast sandwiches to get you in and out quickly, good coffee, If you need something they probably have it, Great way to start off any work day”
“Found this Tavern by sheer chance, driving the back roads, and fell in love with it. Outdoor seating, Solid traditionally bar. None of that fruity corporate nonsense. Food was surprisingly good. Drinks are reasonably priced. Wish i knew about this place before all my motorcycle buds got married. Would be a blast with the whole crew. Might be slow, but owner was incredibly hospitable, and would highly recommend stopping in. It's not a fake instagram vibe. Its a legit beer and a burger kind of spot. If you dig that kind of thing. Pool table-beers-off the beaten path. always a good time.”
“Great little hidden gem of hopewell! Tatiana was amazing to work with and only provides the best quality desserts! Delicious variety of cupcakes and macarons. Definitely one of my new favorite places!”
“Truly great food here. I came here around when it first opened and I always come back every now and again. The staff are very amicable and service is at a reasonable speed even on busy nights”
“My family and I were waiting to eat at the cheesecake factory across the way and I was thirsty and stopped here to get some water. A very nice guy started telling me about the food and then let me try some of the chicken. It was soo good!! Very flavorful and moist! I ended up going back to the Cheesecake Factory and convincing my family to come eat here instead for dinner. Everything was delicious! My daughter and I got 2 boxes with the chicken and both fries and rice and my husband got the chicken sandwich. Everything was wonderful. Would definitely eat here again. Nice to have something unique to eat around here with yummy flavors. :)”
“The weather was nice today. Sun was out, the sunroof was open. Went for a drive with my niece and stopped in to Sweet Parlor Ice Cream Shop in Hilllsborough for some sweet treats. I had not been through Hillsborough in a while and decided to check out was was new in town to me. This place was great! They had some unique offerings that I took an interest in immediately. We decided to try the U-Be My Bae Sundae and the Sweet Tea Bubble Waffle Sundae. They looked great, and more importantly tasted even better! Not overly sweet and the different textures of crunch, creamy, and soft bites were all present and quite pleasant. I will definitely be back to try the other items on the menu. Thank you Sweet Parlor for tending to my craving!”
“My wife and I had a wonderful experience eating at the Mexican Mariachi Grill located in Hamilton Township. We enjoyed having the best Mexican food in the area under a pleasant atmosphere, affordable prices and excellent service. By the way, we also tried the one located at TCNJ Campus in Ewing, and the results were gratifying.”
“Oh man, this neighborhood really needed a cute little coffee shop! I went here with a couple of friends and we were immediately greeted by the exuberant owner. I wasn’t expecting much (because admittedly I’m a coffee snob) but I was blown away! The coffee was delicious! And the place was so much cuter than expected. I’ll be back for more delicious hot beverages!”
“A staple in this area. Always worth the wait. Yes, there is no seating and there is always a long line. And yes, it's cash only. But it is well worth it! The staff is friendly, the store is very quaint. But the ice cream is absolutely one of the best out there. It's the perfect spot to cap off your evening. They close at 10 pm, which is a huge bonus. I never miss a chance to pass by here whenever I'm in Princeton.”
“Had the seared tuna salad for lunch, it was fresh and very delicious. The bread basket had wonderful warm, slightly sweet flavor. Lovely atmosphere, staff very friendly. Will be going back for my birthday. Very impressed ?.”
“Bistro 55 was highly recommended by friends in the area and it was as good as they said if not better! Courteous staff, beautiful presentation of delicious food, and excellent desserts.”
“Food was very good. Everything came out in a timely manner. Service was pleasant. Drinks were delicious! I'm usually a dirty martini kind of girl, but they had a drink called an Ice Queen on the menu and I was intrigued so I decided to try it out. It was absolutely delicious!!! My husband got a dirty martini with bleu cheese olives which was also perfect, it was perfectly balanced. They have an option on the dessert menu called I can't decide which is like a little sampler. It comes with one cannoli, a piece of tiramisu and a tartufo, amazing!!! I loved that because I can never decide what dessert I actually want so why not get a little of all the things. We will definitely be adding this to our list of date night restaurants”
“Went Easter Sunday. Table was ready when we got there. Our server 'Alex' - she was the best. Kept an eye on us to see if we needed anything. Food absolutely out of this world Nicely spaced between appetizers and main meal. Gave us time to digest. Absolutely must come here.”
“Great and friendly service, every time I come here they always give me something additional to what I orderedThey are my favorite in the entire Mercer county area ❤️”
“Eve was our server and she was great. She made our experience a pleasure. We had an issue and the manager came promptly to resolve it perfectly. Very appreciative of the staff there.”
“Blawenburg Bistro is my favorite brunch spot! The food is fantastic and has such amazing flavors, and the staff is always so welcoming. I also always have to leave room for dessert even if I’m full from my meal because their desserts are something I never want to miss out on.”
“Absolutely delicious food!!! My favorite was the fish taco and the beef empanada. The flan was creamy and with the perfect baked caramel flavor. Horchata was super delicious and quite the surprise. The service was formidable, with attention to detail and very interested in our satisfaction. Our new Mexican restaurant for sure!!”
“The food is wonderful! I had the best Chilean Sea bass, my husband loved the scallops, our friends loved their food too. From the appetizers to dessert the meal was absolutely delicious. The staff is very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. If it is crowded it does get noisy.”
