So confused why this place has less than 4 stars. The food is delicious and the people are so kind. I’ve always had a great experience ordering from here. I highly recommend the Taiwanese beef noodle soup. This restaurant is my favorite of the cafeteria mall options.
A not-so-secret gem at the food court in Newport mall. The Taiwanese beef noodles always hit the spot, with huge chunks of tender beef and fresh bok choy. A close second are the pork chop noodles, with a super rich, milky soup and crispy pork cutlet. I also love their rendition of 卤肉饭 braised pork rice which mixes in bits of firm tofu and mushrooms. At $15/bowl, this is a perfect quick meal and I’m always satisfied and happy!

Excited to try after all the good reviews but really not sure where that comes from. Everything left much to be desired.

I thought I reviewed Dumpling Cafe. To quote Reagan, "my heart and my best intentions tell me that's true, but the facts and evidence tell me it is not." It's great to have flavors like this at the mall, especially on a snowbound sort of day. I've previously enjoyed the fried pork chop, roast duck and spicy chili wontons, and tonight I liked the spicy beef hot pot. The fire level was a solid medium that was great for me (keep in mind I'm not one of those people who memorize Scoville scales).

They servers old rotten chicken basil dumplings, which tasted sour and looked spoiled.

We ordered the soup dumplings, chicken dumplings, and scallion pancake. The meal was filling, yummy, and affordable. The soup in the soup dumplings was very tasty — savory and a perfect balance of flavors. The chicken dumplings were soft and also had a great flavor. I’d highly recommend either choice. The scallion pancakes had a good flavor, but were a bit thinner than how I prefer. Overall, a great meal and would recommend to anyone in the area.
The quality of the dumplings is below average in NYC and Jersey City area. It is ok for a quick bite, but definitely not authentic Chinese food.

The beef noodle soup is really really good. Beef was flavorful and tender, and the soup tasted meaty and rich. I don’t understand why this place is called dumpling cafe because the beef noodle soup is the best that they offer. Soy egg was a nice addition to the soup. They have other soup options and not as good as the beef noodle soup.

Underrated! Really impressed by this place, the quality of food is outstanding especially at this price point. As some other folks have commented, I didn’t expect to find this level of food in a mall but am glad I came by. Had the Taiwanese Noodle Soup and their handmade pork and chive dumplings. The soup came with a generous amount of meat and was packed with flavor. The dumplings are excellent. How does this place not have a 4.5-type rating?
This was located at the food court of the Newport Mall. We had only tried the Taiwanese beef noodle soup ($14.75). Though it was pricier than other offerings at the food court, it was well worth it IMO.It came with three big pieces of tender beef. The soup base was flavorful and the noodles al dente. We only wished that the portion size were bigger ?

Service was really late and duck bowl dish was tough. Dumpling's were pretty good. I won't be ordering again.
Nice noodle bowl selection - the roast duck noodle soup is a tasty choice.
