“Small place ran by a lovely couple with all the signature classic Romanian dishes! This place is a complete hidden gem! The eggplant salad starter is just like my grandmother and mother make, the meats are excellent - portion sizes are huge and everything tastes like a solid Romanian place on my visits to Romania. The star today was the Papanasi - a classic Romanian cheese donut! One of the best I had ever! Highly recommended! Will definitely come again!“

“I went to the Jollof & Grill Restaurant on Saturday on August 29th, 2026 to meet my friend there for lunch. The food was good, it was spicy and seasoned well. I had a Jollof Rice combo with Chicken Suya and a snapple and my friend had a Jollof Rice combo with Beef Suya, bottled water, and 1 cream soda. The price of those 2 meals and 3 drinks was $69.30. We had a great time talking and catching up for over 1 hour. The place has a small amount of seating inside and it was quiet so we did not have difficulty hearing each other throughout our time at the restaurant.“

“What a great surprise! After years of visiting Jersey City, I finally decided to check out Boots & Bones. As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted by a great country-style vibe, neon lights, a mini stage, and a spacious bar. We went on a busy night, so service was a little slow, but that's totally understandable given the crowd. We tried the elote, and it was exceptional. I'd go back just for that!

Even though I had driven by, I had never pay attention at the restaurant, because on the side street 71 rd ?, there is no name plate on the facade, only on the Queens Blv. side, only when I drove east to west on Queens Blv I noticed the name; I think it should have a name on the side street also, because right now is a long black slab,take it from someone that works in the advertising industry!! “I come here pretty often but cannot claim to have explored the menu thoroughly. I absolutely love their tteokbokki, which is just lovely: great portion size, perfect texture, and the subtle spice and sweet flavor of the sauce. Amazing with the addition of cheese.

I’ve also tried the tofu bowl, which I have not bothered with again, as well as the kimbap on numerous occasions, which is a great option for a snack or light lunch. The fried dumplings are super crispy and delicious.

I also almost always get a side of kimchi, which is a good size for the price and has a nice flavor and kick to it.

100% would recommend; I mostly get takeout, but the dine-in seating area is a nice setup. Sometimes they have a BOGO deal on the tteokbokki and it absolutely makes my day every time.“

The chicken was also very good. The butter served with the bread was absolutely delicious and a great touch. The asparagus served with the steak was also very well prepared and complemented the dish nicely.

The only disappointment was the potato; I felt it could have been more flavorful and better prepared.

Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with the cleanliness of the restroom. It was very dirty, and someone had clearly vomited in the sink area, but it had not been cleaned. For a restaurant of this quality, this was not acceptable and did not match the overall experience. I hope more attention can be given to hygiene and cleanliness.

We also called ahead to make a reservation, but we were told that due to the restaurant being full, we needed to come in person and put our name on the waiting list. We did that, but we ended up waiting more than 40 minutes before being seated. I understand that busy times happen, but the waiting process could be managed in a more organized way.

The food quality was great, but I believe there are areas where the restaurant can improve, especially regarding cleanliness and guest experience. I hope this feedback is taken into consideration.“

“I absolutely love this place. I have a very bad case of long covid since October 2021 where almost everything smells and tastes rotten or sickly sweet. I am able to eat the hot pot miso ramen soup with a lot of different vegetables, and I can have the chocolate cake/cupcakes. So delicious! I can also eat the white rice and the grilled pineapples. Before finding out that I can have all of this, I was losing a massive amount of weight, thank God for the few things that I can have here, I’m able to maintain my weight now. I just tend to go a bit crazy with what I can eat because I’m so hungry from not really eating the other days. The workers are amazing. The manager, Justin is really nice and very funny. The owner Darin is also very nice. Love the atmosphere and the music, I still can’t eat the other things and the smells from the other foods still bother me but I deal with it just so I can eat what I’m actually enjoying there. Thanks kpot for being the first restaurant where I’m actually eating some things that I can enjoy. Highly recommend this place, especially this location. Twenty stars“
