“My favorite place to stop at on the lake for an ice-cream. We usually paddle up to the docks on our SUPs (stand up paddleboard). Grab a cone of real (Jefferson Dairy I believe) ice-cream and then back on the lack for some awesome paddling.
Highly recommended for a quick bite, all kinds of tchotchkes, signs, toys, games and a bunch of other stuff that I believe are locally made. It's a must visit, especially for those that want to revisit simpler times.“

“Just tried this place out to see if the high rating was real or not. The real reason is we hoped the positive reviews were true. We got tacos with rice and beans. Simple dish, but it's smell and taste were through the roof perfection. Three warm savory corn tortillas for each and each delectable. It reminded me of the best Mexican street food, only better, I had a seat! The staff is basically all family and THAT alone says something about the care behind every dish.“

“We ate at Black Forest Inn tonight. We did not realize a reservation was needed tonight as we are not in area. We were still accommodated by a friendly staff, service was very efficient, quick with refill with drinks. I love the decor of the restaurant. The experience is great. Food is amazingly. We did make reservations to return Dec 13 for the German Christmas event.“

An unassuming little bagel shop with some great variety

The “breakfast bagel” (bacon and cheese infused) was a delight. French toast bagel looks like it has a cinnamon sugar niblet on it, which was a huge surprise (it looks like chocolate chips but it is not).

They have some unique stuff like the crumb cake squares and the bagel dogs that I’d want to try next time

Bacon cheese bagel had real chunks of bacon in it. Jalapeño cheddar bagel had real chunks of jalapeños. Just fantastic.“

“A group of my friends and I were looking for a place to eat outside by the water before we all went out back to our different homestates after a weekend vacation together. This place was perfect, with a large outdoor area. We were initially concerned about the very loud live music playing because we wanted to be able to relax and have good conversations, but they were able to seat us farther away from it which worked out well. A huge bonus is that the outdoor area is completely dog friendly- our waitress even brought out a water bowl for each dog!
Service was fairly prompt and attentive. Food was generally tasty. We shared the maple garlic chicken wings appetizer and enjoyed them. I got the chicken tacos which I loved. I do not handle spiciness at all and they were safe for me and delicious! My boyfriend had the chicken tenders basket and shared his fries with me, which I also enjoyed. A friend also particularly loved the donut alcoholic cider from a local cidery. I think the only thing not enjoyed was one friend who got the 5 cheese Burger. There was something about the taste of the burger that he really didn't care for. My boyfriend tried it and said the best way he could describe it was that the meat tasted more gamey than a usual burger.
Overall though a very positive experience with a beautiful view!“
