“Little difficult to find the place. Went for lunch. Had the 4 kinds of tacos: chicken,short rib, beef, lamb. Also the fries which were crisp. and had 4 kinds of dipping sauce. Got the steak sandwich for my daughter. She loved hers. We loved the fries and tacos. manager was friendly and explained our options. I missed having Mexican. MOstly you get pizza, bagels Israeli style , and steak restaurants.“

Yummy sweet chicken fingers and buffalo fingers. The chicken soup is pretty solid. Deli roll is very good as well as the egg rolls. They give you a monster sized fries love that.
Best thing is how late their open you can get food until 2 or later some motzie shabbosim and motzie peasach.

Vegetarian options: This is not a place for vegetarians only meat eaters.

Dietary restrictions: They have lettuce.

Parking: Parking is a disaster

“I ordered the fettucine alfredo which was at once creamy, buttery and silken. The sauce was not cheesy-thick as some alfredos are, but light and yet rich in taste. Someone at another table ordered French toast, and boy did that smell good.And the other dishes other people were getting also looked delicious. Average pizza for average kosher prices in Lakewood. Sandwiches and salads are also available. There is nothing about this place that stands out (for good or for bad). The area is heavily commercial so parking can be tricky as well as commuting during busy hours.“

“Mom and I had nicely cooked grilled salmon and 3 cooked vegetable side dishes including cauliflower, green beans and roasted veggies. All were excellent. We also had some coffee drinks and these were competently made. The service was friendly and courteous and they threw in the rhirs vegetable even though the plate came with only two. The desserts looked delicious although we didnt indulge this time. The atmosphere was pleasant and the bathrooms were clean.“

I love getting the crispy schnitzel in a laffa and they cut the laffa in half if you want so you can eat like a mentch.
They toast the baguettes like your supposed to.
Not sure if they still give free Cholent with your order on Thursday nights but used to love going for that.

“Our golf group decided on the Southside deli as our lunch venue before our tee time at Lakewood CC. Don't be fooled the uninspiring curb appeal, this was a great choice! I had a delicious pastrami sandwich on fresh rye bread with cole slaw which was absolutely delicious! I will be back to try their kosher BBQ and smoked meats, plus other sandwiches and burgers.“

“The food is great! Pizza is always fresh and tasty. Though I'm very into good fries but unfortunately, these are the standard frozen ripple cut fries. So that's a bummer. Tend to avoid ordering such fries. I find the crispy and straight cut fries taste better. Vs those rippled cut fries which don't taste too good.

I love the ketchup pump/cups, which are easy for kids to dispense ketchup and be a big help when dining out.

Another thing I find interesting. When it comes to fountain soda. I get they charge you $3 or more for a fountain soda. Now, personally, if I had an eatery, that's the first thing I would change and follow the costco trend where they allow unlimited drink refill if you purchased the $0.65 cup. (Lol $0.65). But at least offer some type of refill idea. Even charging $.50, the customer has a cup, straw, and cover. So, all they are paying for is a tad of syrup that's being used.

“I wasn’t sure what to expect here, but I guess I’d call it a not-quite-balabus level steakhouse.
I went with 4 other people and ordered a steak which was okay, tasty but nothing crazy. When your paying their prices, a satisfactory steak just doesn’t cut it.
The design? Meh. And this was before all the competition came around. Now you really gotta up your game.
Not impressed by the ambience.
The service was ok too.
Listen though, I walked out with a full stomach, and that, my friend, always deserves 4 stars.“

Dietary restrictions: I've had their gf pizza a couple times, and it's one of the better kinds I've found. Plus I've never gotten sick from it, so they must be careful about cross contamination over there.“

“So many yummy options and great staff. Always willing to serve you and prepare your food with a smile. I really enjoy coming here to grab a quick bite and sometimes for a sitdown lunch. As well, always a great spot. Plenty of parking available outside can get a little bit traffic during the day.But overall great spot to grab food“

“If you’re in Lakewood and you have even a drop of a sweet tooth, Gelbstein’s is basically a ניסיונות station. You walk in “just to look,” and two minutes later you’re leaving with a box, a bag, and a third thing you don’t remember agreeing to… because the smell of fresh pastry makes you sign away your free will. 😄
First of all, everything is fresh. Not “fresh-ish.” I mean fresh fresh — like the danishes are still warm and the crumbs are already following you home. The rugelach/danish vibe is top-tier, the pastries are flaky in a way that makes you whisper “וואו” without realizing, and the challah is the kind that turns a regular Shabbos table into a whole simcha.
And it’s not just the classics — they’ve got fun stuff too (those cute cupcakes and seasonal things), so it’s perfect when you need:
a quick treat for the car (aka: “for later”),
something respectable to bring to a vort/Sheva Brachos,
or a Shabbos dessert that looks like you put in effort (בלי עין הרע).
Also, the place has a very heimish, local feel — you’ll bump into half of Lakewood in there, all pretending they’re “only buying one thing.” Sure. We all believe you.
Bottom line: delicious, consistent, and dangerous in the best way.
Highly recommend — just don’t come in hungry unless you’re okay with your wallet doing teshuvah afterward. 😄“
