“Absolutely stunning dinner at Pietramala. The chicory salad with cashew cheese and smoked olives was sublime and hands-down the best salad I've ever had; the cacio e pepe, also made with cashew cheese, was fantastic, with beautifully fresh handmade pasta cooked to perfection. The black pearl mushroom with potato was transcendent, smoky and caramel-y with an amazing texture and served over amazingly rich but light mashed potatoes. We also loved the crimini carpaccio (beautifully presented, loved the citrus notes) and hazelnut ice cream and enjoyed the nonalcoholic cocktails, which were herby and refreshing without being sweet. Possibly the best restaurant I've been to in almost 20 years as a vegetarian/vegan, and really nice ambience and great service as well.”

You have so little space that it really affects your eating experience, and that's especially annoying when prices are so high. Our dinner was a creative journey that the chef took us on. We had the Sunday prefixed 4 course dinner in which each course was a delicate and flavorful experience. Nalini our waitress was a pure joy- knowledgeable, funny, attentive without interfering with our experience. She described each course like she was describing a work of art. Please if you’ve been looking for a new place to try, definitely put June BYOB on your list.”

“Had a great meal and an even better experience at Mana – Modern Chinese. The standout of the evening was the Shiitake Bao — pillowy buns filled with perfectly seasoned shiitake mushrooms. I could easily eat a whole plate of these!

Next up was the Jade Harmony Fried Rice, a vibrant vegetarian dish wok-tossed with fresh mixed vegetables. It was flavorful, beautifully presented, and definitely another highlight.

For the main course, we shared the Clay Pot Braised Salmon — slow-braised in a soy-infused broth with ginger, scallions, Chinese broccoli, basil, and bell peppers. This dish was a favorite among my dinner companions, with the rich, aromatic broth complementing the salmon perfectly.

The only slight miss for me was the Forbidden Ribs. While the ribs themselves were tender and well-prepared, the sweet-sour balsamic soy glaze wasn’t quite to my taste — so that may just be personal preference so I don’t see as negative.

Overall, Mana delivers an elevated and creative take on modern Chinese cuisine. The service was top-notch, the staff attentive, and the atmosphere comfortable. I highly recommend visiting — and I’ll definitely be back!”
