“This is one of my favorite food places. The bakery goods are fantastic. Bagels are made on premises and if you get lucky, you can get them fresh out of the oven.

Though not high end dining, this restaurant checks the boxes. Food is excellent. Staff is friendly and helpful. It is not fair to rate the atmosphere on the same plane as the other two. It’s not fancy but quite functional. Especially since it’s usually utilized as a take out place. Most of the time, I’m passing through. I phone in my order and pick it up shortly after. BTW, the tuna and chicken salads are to die for. Maybe the best I’ve ever had. The egg salad is no slouch either.“

“I’ve been going to this place for about 2 years now (I box at a gym nearby hence why I go so often). I come here about two to four times a week. The food is pretty cheap especially for its quality. I usually get the Yuca empanadas, beef empanadas, or chicken empanadas. Dessert wise I usually get the Tiramisu or brownies. I can say without a doubt it is one of the best places I’ve ever ate at. The workers are very friendly. Most of the workers know both Spanish and English too which is very helpful. There are plenty of places to sit and eat and it has a very welcoming atmosphere. They’re always playing music (at the perfect volume never to loud never to quiet). The food always comes out quick too.

Dietary restrictions: I know both the beef empanadas and chicken empanadas (and I’m pretty sure the Yucas) are all gluten free which has come in handy when I catered for a party once.“

“We got our wedding cake from Calandra's Bakery. They have so many flavors to choose from, and their cakes are magnificent works of art! We got a four tier cake to feed 250 people. We had such a good time at our tasting, sampling all the different flavor combinations, and enjoying some complimentary coffee. The flavors we chose were vanilla cake with chocolate pudding, chocolate and vanilla cake with Italian custard and strawberries, and chocolate cake with dulce de leche. Their dulce de leche is the best I have ever tasted! Designing the cake was super easy and so fun! If you want a cake that not only looks spectacular, but tastes just as good, Calandra's is it!“

Their Sangak is great but also recently I got their Barbary bread and it really surprised me since it tastes and feels exactly like the authentic Barbary you can only find in Iran. Wide selection, all freshly backed, wonderfully friendly staff and the cherry on top is the actually fair prices in a time when almost nothing feels like that. “Best Sweet Potato Pie on the planet. I have eaten them all and this one out of Paterson NJ is the best by far. My family has been buying them for the past 25 years. And it's the same as it tasted 25 years ago. They now have a banana pudding that's out of this world. Can't wait to taste whatever else they develop“
