“Named one of the top 50 places to eat in North Jersey in 2023, this family-owned establishment, named after the owner’s sister, offers Mediterranean cuisine and much more. I came to this Taste the Top like a Yelp Elite event today thanks to Sarah and her team. Located in Wayne off of Valley Road, Jackie Small is a bright, comfortable, and cozy eatery with 13 two-seater tables open during breakfast and lunch. There was no wait upon entering and being greeted by the staff, Hector. Their menu, inspired by traditional Middle Eastern recipes, is vast, featuring their popular shawarma grain bowl, Greek salad, as well as French toast, avocado toast, grilled cheese, blueberry pancakes, veggie bowls, BLT's, etc. It's first come, first served, as one orders at the counter, has a seat, and they'll deliver your food to your table. I decided on Smalls Scramble consisting of 3 eggs soft-scrambled, Gruyere cheese, roasted tomatoes, truffle home fries, and multi-grain toast. To wash it down, I went for the Mango Supreme smoothie (mango nectar, strawberry, banana, honey, and pineapple). The food was perfect—great portions and very good quality. The smoothie was delicious and refreshing. This place checked all the boxes, which I can recommend.“

“Depending on your style and needs, this could be the right place for you. The aesthetic is super fun with seating like airplane seats, bright lights, and really loud music. The coffee is good with coffee-adjacent drinks with fun names. I have never seen the place empty or slow. There are a handful of pastries (croissant, pecan roll, ham and cheese croissant, everything bagel twist, etc.) to accompany the beverages. I was told the pastries come from Le French Dad Boulangerie, so if you like their baked goods, you’ll be pleased. If you’re prone to migraines or if you’re looking for a semi-quiet place to work or have a chat, this is not the place for you. If you want to show friends or visitors a unique place with good coffee, this does the job.“

“Cute coffee shop! Ordered the honey bee lavender latte. It was delicious. Also tempted to indulge in the bacon egg and cheese sandwich on a croissant. The craving was definitely met.Seating area is ok with minimal couches, mostly bar seating available. Service was friendly. Had to wait a bit because the shop got a little crowded, but it was worth the wait.Highly recommend.“

“Pour City Roasters is the best coffee around. So much better then the big chain places. Jimi, Allison and family make you feel at home when you go in. The service is excellent and they treat you like family. The coffee is like nothing you have ever had. Go have a cup and you will not be “

“Great meal and overall time here! Our server was super nice and friendly/helpful he really guided us through the menu and gave some great suggestions. The restaurant itself is super nice and cozy while being spacious, but oh man the food is unreal. We had the meatballs (so big and flavorful and smothered in sauce), the mushroom pizza which was loaded with mushrooms, super flavorful and unique. Also got the vodka pizza which was really great, we got extra vodka sauce on the side so we could really drown it and loved it. My friend got the gluten free and she said it's the first gluten free bread she's had that actually tastes like real bread and loved it.“

“Stopped in for the first time over the weekend and was very happy with our visit! The pastries/pies we tried were all very delicious and tasted like they were made from quality ingredients. Everyone that worked there were also super friendly and helpful. It was hard not to leave with additional goodies that I wasn’t originally intending on!“

“My family and I love love love Kubo. Since they opened, we def try to come here any time were in the area. My fave fave fave is the Ube Soft Serve with Taiyaki and boba. Their soft serve is just so creamy and flavorful. I haven't tried everything on their menu yet, but I def plan to. Posting a pic from our most recent visit last week. They have a small seating area, but in the warmer seasons they add some extra outside seating which is nice. Its always a great place for some pics, too.10/10 Highly recommend!“

“I love a home run...a trifecta :)It's a cozy but clean location...bright & warm vibe with the woods & metals. What can make it more welcoming???!!! A baked goods, sandwich, and other goodies glass showcase as soon as you step in....sorry no picture! The service is AMAZING by far #1 on my list of places BUT not over bearing. They took care of all our needs with kindness & gentleness while allowing us to enjoy our time together. The food tasted as if from FARM TO TABLE...fresh, crisp, warm and light. The arepas were perfect...my grandma and mom are straight from Colombia so arepas are huge...these meet the criteria, soft but cooked on the inside and grilled perfectly, moist not dry. My son's Eggs Benedict was delish and the bread wasn't the usual English muffin instead a thick slice of heavenly toast. The avocado toast was unbelievable and scrumptious. I had both Arepa dishes...both very good but the beef and cheese was exceptional :)Look forward to going back!“

“I'm on a vegan and gluten-free diet and this place provided a great meal for me while I was in between jobs. I got a ham, egg and cheese (all vegan of course) on a biscuit. I I can't wait to go again! The owner is super sweet and helpful. Overall, it was a great experience.“

“Took a second to find this place, but glad we did. Met the owner who personally makes the ice cream from locally sourced ingredients and with no artifical flavoring. Great tasting and not overly sweet or heavy. Perfect balance of freshness and flavor. This place really is one of best icream spots around.“

“Wow!! So we had a group of 8 and was pouring rain so looking for a takeout place. Found Tacos Polos because it was only 5 minutes away. We ordered tons of food for pickup. The price was great and the quality and amount for the price was unbelievable. We ordered a 30 tacos combo ?they were amazing. Everything was so good. We are so happy we found an amazing takeout place nearby.“

“I met a friend for dinner in Boonton and he asked if I've ever been to Boonton Coffee Co. When I said "no" he said "you gotta try this coffee". We walked over and I ordered an iced vanilla latte, just like I've done at Starbucks for well over a decade. Long story short, this place has ruined Starbucks for me. The quality and flavor of their coffee is unmatched. With all due respect to Folgers Freeze Dried coffee, that's what Starbucks now tastes like in comparison. If the owners are reading this...please let me know if you're considering another location. I'd definitely invest.“

“Defying Gravitea is a cute spot for breakfast, coffee/tea, or some little sweets. My mom and I stopped in early one morning and the owner Gina was super friendly and welcoming. The menu is entirely gluten/dairy free and as someone who is not gluten or dairy free, I believe the food was just as tasty, if not better! I had a pot of Rise + Glow tea and French toast. Will definitely be back!“

“I absolutely love the atmosphere in here. I noticed it was pretty packed, has great live music (they even played Neil Young!), a lot of options such as cranberry apple tea, a robot, and great artwork. The patrons seem polite and it has a slightly upscale, but laid back, vibe. It is gender inclusive!Parking: It gets packed“

“Ladies and gentlemen this is one of the best cafes in and around clifton-paterson- garfield area where you can grab a very flavorful coffee and enjoy a little studying time. The cafe has plenty of seats for everyone and plenty of outlets. Mario and jason are both great baristas and are phenomenal with the customers. I definitely come here often and study and enjoy the environment and vibes of cafe. It can get a little hectic and loud when there are inconsiderate people around but all in all one of my fav cafes. They always have new drinks and the baristas are very creative. Well done!“

“Good was great but unfortunately it was also too pricey. There’s absolutely no reason why a Cuban sandwich should cost more than an average dinner meal. It’s a great place for lunch. Just be ready for the outrageous prices?Dietary restrictions: If you’re on a diet? I recommend drinking a lot of water and the steak sandwich minus the breadParking: Place is overall great and the food taste awesome. It’s obvious the cook injects love into the food. Upon eating you will feel the explosion of flavor in your mouth no-matter what you order. But I will repeat what I said in the beginning of this; be ready to donate a body part.Kid-friendliness: As for your kids? Yes they have child seats you can tie your kids up in them.Wheelchair accessibility: There’s ramps for any unfortunate soul who needs one“

“I don’t typically leave reviews, but I loved this place! I stumbled in and the interior was so inviting and calm, exactly what I needed the day I found Thought in Motion. I got a golden milk latte and an infused water (recommended by the staff). Both were DELICIOUS. I was having a rough day and Sandy came out and just gave me beautiful pep talk. She had no idea that I needed that. Beautiful shop, beautiful staff. Thank you! I’ll be back❤️“

“I did a Google search for a coffee shop and came upon this small, unique shop. I ordered a latte and it was very good. It’s a very small set up with a huge mission. It’s a non-profit to help people with disabilities to have a place to work. What a great cause! I didn’t get any food but the options looked quite yummy.Parking: Very little parking on the street. There is a lot behind the building which had quite a few empty spaces. Have to walk around the building to get to the storefront but not difficult or long walk.“

“I feel compelled to comment on the one-star reviews regarding the accusations of racism, as I find it deeply unsettling. The criticism leveled against the staff, suggesting a lack of attention, strikes me as a misunderstanding, particularly in light of my personal experiences. My autistic son, who is an employee of Seven Scoops, often struggles with eye contact and can unintentionally say things that might be misinterpreted. The staff at Seven Scoops has been nothing short of remarkable in their interactions with my son. They have significantly boosted his self-esteem, patiently engaged with his frequent text messages, and consistently welcomed his presence and contributions. This level of support and acceptance is a testament to their character and dedication.I urge the authors of the negative reviews to reconsider their words and instead become aware of your surroundings before placing judgement on our children with special needs.“
“Love the coffee and tea selection- good strong coffee that’s not bitter, and prices reasonable. People are helpful and friendly. Menu appears small until you realize that they will make you any flavor combination, hot or cold, with any milk type (real milk, almond milk…) Pictured is an iced latte with almond milk and mocha syrup and an iced caramel latte with regular milk. They also sell whole bean coffee which they will grind for you, many teas, snacks, and gift items. And just a cute nice place to sit and relax, too!“
“Me and my boyfriend stopped by to do the tea ceremony to learn more about tea & culture! The owner is so sweet & knowledgeable, the tea ceremony was definitely worth it and we learned a lot from her. The ceremony felt like fun but also as professional as taking a class on how to brew your own teas at home & their origins.Definitely reccomend stopping by for anyone who has an interest in trying new teas.“

“I would go back for the chocolate blackout donut alone, but the dirty chai latte and chocolate loaf are also worth a second visit. “I see this place when we pass by. I have never stopped in until today. First I thought they onlySold tea. However, much to my surprise they have coffee too. There are other shops nearby that we had visited and it was time to compare. The mocha latte was very good. Tasty in all the right ways without over powering with the mocha. My husband had the chai tea and he said it was good too. MySon ordered the cheese empanada. Now that one did hurt because by where we live they only cost $2 and not $5. The barista was helpful in answering any questions we had.We sat in the new area while we waited. We played a couple rounds of tic tac toe. They also have a small children’s library selection.“

“I selfishly want to keep this place a little secret, but I know it's not right to do and so I must share my thoughts and quick review so that you may enjoy it too. My go-to coffee is usually black and nothing else. Instead I opted to try their "Hot Chai latte"and a choice of oat milk, half/half and milk and other options. I went with the half/half and It was absolutely delicious. Groundwork's Cafe is just the perfect place to relax and enjoy yourself with their many food and drink options. The energy and vibe is exactly what I like to surround myself in. The cafe is extremely clean all around!!!! The staff members are beyond friendly and welcoming. There's off street meter parking and town meter parking lots within a short walking distance. What I ordered: Hot chai latte Chicken Colombian empanadas A small cup of Tomato Soup I LOVED IT ALL! “Thank you to Sammy who handled customers with grace this evening (a Saturday evening in early April) where customers were lined up out the door! She was working alone and yet never stressed, lost her cool and worked tirelessly until everyone had their ice cream in hand. At a day and age where I wouldn't want my own daughter working alone, she was working tirelessly to ensure her customers were happy and didn't rush through despite the line behind her and anxiously awaiting customers. I was very impressed with her!!!“

“Attention West Coast natives! Have you, like me, been desperately hunting for a good maple donut only to find that for some reason that’s not a thing on the east coast?? Glaze Donuts has you covered!!! Other places have fancy “maple bacon sourdoughnuts” and things like that, but we know it’s not the same. Look. The east coast has better bagels, the west coast has better donuts. It’s just the way our country is divided. But if you’re looking for a truly stellar, no-nonsense yet absolutely delicious and creative donut experience, Nutley Donuts is the place. ?“

“Not only is this our neighborhood place that's easy to frequent for us, it is one of the best places in town! Consistently delicious and super friendly and efficient service. Cozy atmosphere with local artists' works on display and for sale. Daily specials in food and drink available. Great sandwiches and soups also in addition to breakfast fare! My faves are huevos rancheros or Spanish omelette, or a good ol' egg sandwich and oat latte. The French toast is also yummmm! Brunch crowd vie for tables on weekends. “Very charming little coffee spot! Super chill atmosphere and relaxed. Quiet for days that you want 'work from home' but not be stuck at home. There is plenty of parking with a few municipal lots and street parking as well. We did ceramic painting and there are plenty of options of items you can paint although we just stuck with mugs. I think there is a time limit when you make the reservations for the painting but it was a quiet day and they let us take our time. It is a neat little activity to do on a rainy day with friends and a cute coffee spot if you want a change from dunkin/starbucks in the area.“

But I like the idea I'm also supporting a good cause by aiding areas for drilling wells. Where it's needed & where liquid church will go to who is in need. Money well spent and aiding others! Clean place to eat and also they help those with special needs. By giving these peopleA job. As far as I am concerned its a trifecta. We have the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit! “Left this morning without coffee and was in the neighborhood so I said let me stop by. Once again I sigh and wish I lived closer to Montclair. This little coffee shop cafe is amazing. They had a display of amazing looking baked goods like quiche and sweets and vegan items that screamed at me to try but alas I was not up for food at the time. They also had the most amazing coffee and tea offerings, but again, I was here for "just" a cup of coffee. I ordered a large dark roast with half and half to go and heck if I tell you a cup of plain coffee was such a delight! The coffee was smooth and deep flavored and clearly fresh brewed with no burnt taste all too familiar with dark roast. When I think of how much I pay for a meh at best cup from Dunkin or Starbucks, when for less the price I get a far superior cup of coffee here. What a gem of a store.“

“10/10 would recommend if you're running low on laxatives!Every time either myself or my husband eats here, we spend the next 24 hours in and out of the bathroom. I've displaced water with the nearly all-liquid poo that has been expelled from my body. I'm quite impressed about what was cleared out of my body after just one McDouble or McChicken. Better than Exlax or Imodium! And for the record, I know it was from the food here, it was the only thing I had put in my body that day.“
