Taking advantage of the people and technically 3 times the fee of a larking ticket you’ll get from the Montclair police dept. Robbery for sure and taking advantage of the state to charge high fees. Be aware of people of the scam in this parking spot ..“

“I’d been searching for a BBQ caterer in NJ for a birthday party and feel like I hit the jackpot with Jersey Joe’s. Cindy was helpful and very busy but I was able to place my order after a few days of going back and forth. Everyone at the party was floored by how good the food was! The Alabama chicken wings were delicious and had a nice kick. The brisket was incredibly tender and flavorful, grateful that they came without bbq sauce so that it could be added as desired. They also included extra sauces when requested which was great. The chopped chicken was tasty. The street corn blew everyone away, it was that good! The potato salad was solid and the cornbread was abundant. The mac and cheese was delish and we’re glad we added the breadcrumbs like the kid delivering the food suggested. Speaking of which, the delivery was the best I have ever experienced. He brought the food in, placed them in the warmers, filled them with water, and lit the sternos. He deserves a raise and promotion for his customer service, I only wish I remember his name. I highly recommend Jersey Joe’s and will be using them again in the future along with many of the guests at our party!“

“I have been wanting some great Jamaican food since I moved from NY in 2021. Thankfully I found this spot. I ordered the jerk pork, rice and peas, cabbage/carrot dinner, along with a large goat soup, festival and a Soursop drink. The pork is divine, well seasoned, juicy, tender and succulent, the rice and peas were flavorful and moist, the cabbage/carrots were very tasty too. The “goat” soup had 1 piece of goat inside but that not withstanding it was seasoned well. The Soursop drink was delicious a bit sweet but still very good. “I've been going to LongHorn for years, but this last visit was excellent. Carlos was our waiter, he was professional and attentive. The food was better than usual and my guests were totally happy from the steaks to the lava cake and short cake. The only thing that was negative were the prices. I understand everything has gone up but I can buy a good 3 piece pack of Filet minon at BJ's for $17. My 9oz filet was $35. Our bill for 6 people with tip was close to $300. In any case if you go it will be worth it.“

And probably in lemon/lime and/or vinegar or other such citrus based marinade solutions—
Why do I say this—You can taste the difference in their meat 🥩, on top of their specific marinade flavor profile! Whatever their using. Might be a pesto based typed marinade who knows!!
All I know is You guys and gals gotta report there!

“I’ve been ordering from The Pit for years the staff is always friendly, and the food is consistently fresh and flavorful. No complaints there at all.

That said, I wanted to give a heads-up for anyone ordering the beef ribs half combo. I recently ordered the same half beef rib(S) and chicken combo I’ve gotten in the past. Typically, when I order the half beef rib(s), I receive 2–3 beef chuck ribs. This time, however, I only received one rib — which was surprising, considering the plural wording and my prior experiences.

I called and spoke with Jeff, who was respectful and upfront. He mentioned that the combo only includes one beef rib and that prices have gone up (which I totally get). Still, based on my regular orders over the years, I’ve never received just one rib until now. Either way, I appreciate his transparency.

For context:
• Half chicken combo = ~$11.95
• Half beef rib(S) & chicken combo = ~$16.95

So if you’re expecting multiple beef ribs, you may want to reconsider and go for the chicken or pork ribs instead both still come in hearty portions.

To be clear, this isn’t a complaint just advice for fellow regulars or first-timers who may be surprised by the term beef rib(S)with a single rib. I’ve even added pictures in photos comparing what I received vs. the half chicken combo.

Bottom line: The Pit remains a solid spot with delicious food, generous sides, and great service just be mindful of the current beef rib portions when ordering.“
