“Very fond memories of a dear, old friend of mine who passed away several years ago. Whenever he came back to Jersey we'd have to stop here! He loved their paella! Even though I'm not close by anymore, we still come here a few times a year. The food is great, the wines are great, the service is great, the staff is great, the atmosphere is great, the decor in the dining room is great.... there's nothing I can say that isn't great!!!“

“I recently dined at this restaurant and had a delightful experience. The fried calamari and flatbread appetizers were delicious, setting a high standard for the rest of the meal. For the entree, I opted for the lamb chops, which were cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The food quality was excellent, leaving me thoroughly satisfied. Apart from the food, the atmosphere of the restaurant was fantastic. The ambiance was inviting, and the cleanliness of the place added to the overall pleasant dining experience. The staff were attentive and friendly, enhancing the overall positive vibe of the restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience. The combination of delicious food, great atmosphere, and excellent service makes it a standout choice.“

“This place is delightful. My go to is the Portuguese rolls breakfast sandwich. It's the best in the area. The empanadas are pretty good too. Pastel de nata ::drool emoji:: say less. You can't leave here without a dessert. Stop here if you want good eats“

“I live in the Ironbound, but the prices and quality of food is so much better here. The meat is of excellent quality and the service is great. If you come on a Sunday like I did, get here before 1pm because it gets packed quickly. The place is small but very nice. The parihada for 2, is enough for 3 or 4.“

“The space is small, but this is more of a takeout place. The portions are large and therefore you don't need to make many orders and the food is great. Everything is ready when they tell you it will be. you don't have to wait for your order for too long. I definitely recommend as a quick solution if you don't feel like cooking.“

“Food is always good to excellent. Good hard working regulars always say hello; many have become good friends. The Portuguese " Cheers" kind of sums it up. Karokee on a Friday or Saturday brings a mix of music from people who just love to sing and to be around good people.“

“What an absolute hidden gem, very kind staff, I'd recommend the chicken on rice. It did get more fun once I spoke Spanish with them, though they speak Portuguese they understood me well and we got a lot of family-style platters for our table full of colleagues.“

“This is my first time eating Portuguese food and I must say that I had a very good experience with them. The flounder with the spanish rice and sauteed veggies were on point! I also had the chourito and camarno which is sausage and shrimp in a garlicky hot sauce which was divine! the espresso was a nice finish to the meal. I highly recommend trying it out. André our server was very nice and attentive and the chef and everyone cooked the food to perfection. Give Algarve a try!“

“Saturday September 16 came for a early dinner it was nice to sit outside . Anna Maria was our server she was very nice answered any questions. The food was very good, we had Caldo Verde soup very tasty, Chourico Portuguese sausage it was sliced thin very good, shrimp and Garlic was very very tasty wish there was more shrimp in the dish. Then we had lamb chops. They were so tender. They did give us mint sauce on the side I asked for Garlic sauce and they accommodated me. it was a different garlic sauce, then from the shrimp it was very good. Sangria was good, espresso martini was very good. I would definitely recommend anyone to check it out. Anna Maria let us know The tip was included for a party of 2 . That was very nice of her. She would’ve gotten a really really big tip, we did give her a little extra.“

“Food was really good. The beef ribs were very well seasoned. The service was great, the young man asked me how I wanted my ribs cooked and that was a surprise to me that they can cook them to my liking. The ambiance reminds me of a college town eatery which brought me back to my college days. The only issue I had is wish it was more food for a whole platter considering the price but I'd definitely go back for more“

“If you don’t want to drive all the way to Newark for authentic Portuguese food, Tino’s is the place! The shrimp garlic is soooo good. Beef ribs, clams in garlic hit the spot. I’ve tried Portugalo BBQ and they don’t compare. If you want real, delicious Portuguese authentic flavors, go straight to Tinos BBQ & Grill.“

“This is a small place with tons of charm. They have a few tables inside to eat as well as some outside. The food is season well. You can actually taste the firewood they use. My favorite by far was the season paella. They have a good variety of empanadas. I had beef and Buffalo chicken. They both were good with enough meat inside. You get a good amount of food. The staff is so friendly. I can wait to come back and try other dishes.“

“Let me tell you a little about this place you'd never guess in a million years it's a restaurant due to it being in an old train station building! The service is amazing and the food is phenomenal! I was working nearby and stumbled across this spot and any time I work there I come here to get lunch! I've came back multiple days in a row that's how great it is! Wish there was one close by me!“

“I truly enjoyed this restaurant. The service was great as well as the food. It is tiny and not loud like other Portuguese restaurants I have visited over by Newark. I do believe the prices are right based on the quality of the food.Average price per person is between $30-$50.“
