“Cook and Shaker is a cozy corner bar that just reopened after renovations!

The bar was huge with nice ambient lighting. There were also lots of high tops around the restaurant, plenty of seating in an open space.

One of the bartenders, Tori, gave us samples of their espresso martini which was SO delicious. One of the best I’ve had in Philly. Highly recommend.

For food, we got the cook and shaker salad, popcorn chicken and their special of the night which was a pizza steak sandwich with vodka sauce. The salad was fresh and delicious, the croutons seemed homemade (the best). The popcorn chicken was heavily breaded which I personally like, but my friend wasn’t a fan. If you like crispy small pieces of chicken, you’ll enjoy these.

We were unfortunately not a fan of the pizza steak sandwich. We got it because of the vodka sauce, but we couldn’t taste that at all. We swapped it for a grilled cheese, which was just okay.

Overall, we loved the atmosphere, espresso martini and some of the food. I will definitely come back in the future to try more things!“

“My son and I made a point to visit this Bar and Grill when holidaying through the USA just short of 12 months ago and are still talking about how great that night was. we have the same name but are not related and never been there previously but the welcoming and service from all concerned was outstanding.“

“We just tried this place Friday night and was really pleased with the craft beer selection and could not have had a better meal. We had the chicken franchise and chicken Bella bucca. The green beans and rice were delicious as was the potatoes and spinach. Prices were very reasonable as well. Highly recommend this place and we will be back. “We had an excellent dining experience at The Pour House! From start to finish, everything was top-notch. We started with the oysters and nachos—both were incredibly fresh and flavorful. For our main course, we tried several sandwiches and burgers, all recommended by our amazing server, Marissa. Marissa was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. She made great suggestions and made sure our group was well taken care of throughout the meal. The service and food were equally impressive, and we’ll definitely be coming back. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area and are in the mood for oysters.“

“Rebecca was my waitress. Great service—even though the place was packed and she basically got sat 7 tables at once. Good food, great service. I’ve been to PJ before—just not this location. It didn’t disappoint. She seemed happy when I asked for the check and it came time for the gratuity. :) Grabbed the manager on the walk out and let him know how good the service was. “My cousin and I were looking for a spot that was in between my suburban Philly home & her S.Jersey location. We asked Google for a great restaurant in Fishtown & they sent us here. WAY TO GO GOOGLE!! We shared 2 incredibly yummy & imaginative sandwiches (a phenomenal crabcake & a grilled goat cheese). Both were accompanied by delicious sides (fresh Caesar salad and fantastic fries). Sam was our server extraordinaire. Highly recommended that PHANTASTIC PHILLY PHIND!! We will be back❣️“
