“On vacation as a joke, we searched for "the worst bar near me" which led us to this amazing little place. We had the absolute best food! The waitstaff was attentive, fun, and helpful. Prices & portions were fair. The whole vibe of the area was low-key & pleasant with the dog-friendly patio, next door local shops, and other patrons. If these Wisconsintes find ourselves in Jersey City again, we will absolutely make a dedicated return to the Wurstbar!“

“Grove Station is a cool place. It is welcoming to the straight and LGBTQ+ community. I had several beers and lively conversation with other patrons at the bar. I didn't sample the food as I was not hungry so I can't comment, However I did look at the menu and there were lots of great choices. It's directly across from the Grove Street PATH station so it's easy to get to. It is not a large place but I kind of liked the intimate atmosphere. There is also outdoor seating with a covering. A good chill place to hang out for me. I posted a pic of a cool patron I met and talked to. We exchanged numbers and stay in touch now. I also posted the menu.“

“Nut allergy friendly: Nothing we had had any concerns. I don't think anything they use has nuts.

Wow. This probably ranks into my top 3 Korean restaurants in the US. It's a quaint shop from the outside that I almost walked by despite following directions, but it's packed with flavor.

We made a reservation two weeks ahead when they opened up and were promptly seated.

Order-to-Dishes: Roughly 13-19 mins for appetizers, 23 mins for sharable entrees.

For three people, we ordered:
-Kimchi (complimentary): Excellent. Great balance, not too acidic.
-Seafood Butter-Gui (5/5): An interesting Mediterranean feeling dish with the pita, but it blends the butter with delicious seafood and the perfect accompaniments to balance out each bite.
-Seafood Pancake (5/5): They manage to get squid or shrimp or mussels into each bite of the pancake. Stellar texture. Delicious balance with the chive and basil.
-Fried Soft Shell Crab (6/5): Holy smokes. Must order. Not sure how they fry this but it is excellently crispy and still fresh tasting at the same time.
-Fried Chicken (4.5/5): I give this a good rating for excellent portions. It's fried in a similar way as the soft shell crab. I think it was a bit weaker in texture but overall, still very good.
-Duck Bulgogi (4/5): While this was the weakest dish in my opinion, the duck was still very tender and flavorful. I think it should have been served with some rice or something other than beansprouts.
-Spicy Fish Stew (4/5): Went very well with rice, very tender fish and clams but not enough to share with 3 people.
-Seafood Japchae (5/5): The heck did they do to make this Japchae so good? The octopus perfectly balanced the Japchae texture and it's a great level of spice.

The quality of seafood was overall excellent.

With two drinks it came out to roughly $75/pp.

“Overall I had a good experience. The food was definitely the highlight of the night. The cocktails were a bit bland. Where this place lacked in my opinion was the service. There are 4 high top tables in the bar area. This is where I sat, there were 3 bartenders working the area and I felt the tables were being neglected. Had to flag staff down more than once to get a second round of drinks and our bill at the end of the meal. Again, overall a good experience, just need to tighten up on the service aspect.“

“Stopped in for a quick bite w a girlfriend Thursday. Being a bartender who works a lot I like to really be able to enjoy my time out. This did not disappoint. I had the squash and a burger. Both were 10/10. I had a server named Hunter who was spot on selling the burger. Very attentive without hovering. I don’t drink but he brought me a Phony Negroni and y’all, that slaps.“

The space itself is very stylish and inviting, and we really appreciated how the team checked in with us throughout the night, even asking if we liked the music and if there was anything else we needed.

“We wanted a simple, bar-food-style meal for our lunch and were so glad to find Old Town Bar after watching a movie at Regal. The service was prompt and friendly and the food was delicious! I don’t remember the name of my sandwich but it was basically just a grilled ham and cheese (I requested the mustard on the side) and it was so perfect and exactly what I needed. The German Pretzel appetizer was huge and also absolutely delicious with both a stone-ground and a honey mustard on the side. The pricing is more than reasonable as well.“

The people, which seemed like regulars were so welcoming and genuine (which is an experience based opinion) and the food was great. “Had a great time here after the Montclair Hash run in August 2024. Great beers (particularly enjoyed the keg stand) and amazing pizza (loved the Tim Howard), beautiful outdoor seating and a great ambience all in all. Would love to come back for a proper meal here!“

“We have driven by this place a million times and decided to visit it yesterday. The place looks small from the outside, but it's very big inside. In all, there were four separate areas..the bar at the front with some seating, then an open area where a band was setting up, then a dining area with tables, and all the way in the back, a play room with old school pin ball machines and arcade games. So nostalgic. There were cassette tapes and a large boom box up on the wall, colorful graffiti with Wu-Tang quotes, and Pac Man murals all around the room. We didn't stay long at all, just had a couple of drinks, but will be coming back when we have more time.

“This place was great! Hipster American vibe with dashes of Latin flair thrown in for good effect.

Ordered some session IPA that was exactly what it was. Tastey and drikable. Then I got yucca fries to start that were perfect and a beer/burger combo that was on special. The burger brought a tear to my eye. It was something your mom would of made for you in the kitchen on a warm summer evening in a pan. Nothing to fancy but made just right. They even cooked it to the temp that I asked for.
