“We recently hosted a baby shower for our daughter and son-in-law at Lavender Lake, with 65 of our closest friends and family, and it was absolutely perfect.

The staff were incredible from start to finish—so helpful during set-up and consistently attentive to our guests throughout the event. They made everything feel seamless and stress-free.

The food was delicious, and the team did a wonderful job keeping everything fresh and fully stocked. At the end, they even provided containers so guests could take home leftovers, which was such a thoughtful touch.

Love coming here for random sporting events or just meeting up with friends to watch random shit together on tv (the Olympics, Super Bowl, oscars). They will put anything on for you!

But it’s really the food that keeps me coming back. Love that appetizer sampler and the burgers plus the wings. Great bar staff too (bless them for always supplying me with ice cold lime soda water with my margs).

“(Nov 2014) Uber cool high tech mod fitout and no shortage of opinionated beer nerds (complete with obligatory cult brewery t-shirts). Even at 2pm on a Sunday arvo. Doesn’t quite have the warm of a traditional US bar but still pretty friendly. Very international list with a focus on left of centre. Pricing on the high side but reflects the quality of the beers. Served via cabernet glasses - a nice touch. I really grew to like the place and they use a small space well. Can I say it reminds me of Two Row in Melbourne? And....btw....the only other bar I have ever seen where punters are punching out tasting notes!“

“After the museum, we were a big group for lunch. There was a happy hour menu with drinks and some food options. Tacos were great, spicy and hibiscus margaritas were very good, and those who had sandwiches also really enjoyed. Prices were very fair (cheap even). Service excellent. Highly recommend!“

“Stopped in here for a quick bite with 2 small children just as it opened. Place was clean and kids loved the aquarium behind the bar and the koi pond and stream in the back patio. Good selection of draft beers. You order food at a window, selection is basic bar food of burgers, chicken, taco's, BLT sprinkled with po-boy's and keilbasa. On Tuesday nights, if you order fries with your meal, you get a free draught beer. Our food was hot and came out quickly. Our bar tender was very informative and attentive. “When you first walk in to HP, you assume its a chill laid back place thats prob gonna serve ok food and drink- you know a comfortable place where you can just chill. It's a chill laid back place for sure but soooooo much more. Drinks and food was excellent, done really well. The bartender knows his stuff! best drink I have had in a while! My GF really loved our time here and will return.“

“Golden Years is a solid place to get together and have a simple drink or bite to eat. More a cozy bar vibe, this establishment has some fun outdoor seating under a large tree as well as a nice cozy inside for both hot and cold weather days.
I've come here on rainy days, sitting in front while hanging with friends and sipping beers, as well as into the night on a warm night and hung out in the backyard with small and large groups both on the concrete and the upper deck seating areas.
Outdoors has a few places to keep out of the rain but worst case, inside has plenty of places to sit at both the bar as well as tables including some near the front windows to view the city street.
Credit cards are accepted and they hold onto it while you have a tab open.“
