This was a fun spot downstairs in our hotel. Great to stop by and enjoy a quick bite and some NY beer in a hip yet casual atmosphere.
If you are as militantly particular about martinis as I am, then this is your spot. Both Michael and Stephanie are gifted mixologists and fun to chat with —plus it’s one of the few spots in the city where I can saddle up solo and A. never be harassed; B) order a mini martini when one more full one would equal an unflatteringly sloppy ride home.
Follow the funny door down from 5th Ave into the best of cocktail bars
Nice place , good people and we enjoyed ourselves very much.

The Bar Downstairs & Kitchen is a hidden gem with a beautiful interior design and a cozy, intimate atmosphere. The modern speakeasy decor makes for an inviting space, though the high ceiling and basement location can make it a bit noisy. The staff is super friendly, fantastic, and attentive, providing wonderful service that brightens the day. The broad menu offers flavorful food with nice portions, including an amazing burger, sliders, and fries. Their unique and beautifully presented cocktails, along with a bougie drink menu and delicious, fairly priced wine, offer great value that makes other restaurants seem overpriced. It is a good spot in midtown for a group happy hour, just around from Bryant Park with a convenient locale. While the loud music can be stressful for sensitive ears, the overall experience is definitely positive, and many return for the great vibe and excellent service.
