“Been going to this location for a couple years now. Always loved it with the service and food, but lately it hasn’t been it. The food is still dope, but the wait time is awful now. I had to wait more than 30 minutes the last couple times i went, when just a few months ago, it would only take 10-15 minutes for my order to be ready. New staff or management or something is causing this issue.“

“This is one of my favorite places to eat between classes. I especially love getting the bae bowl and it's always so fresh, and the salsa and sauce is so good! It always lasts me two full meals because the portion size is really generous. Everyone there is also so nice and welcoming so I love coming here and will definitely be back.“

“We shop in NJ on Saturdays. My daughter asked for Shrimp Tacos. I said ok google, and Las Chiangas popped up. It was near so we headed out. I cannot tell you how amazing this experience was. This place is very small with about 8 tables. We had 2 adults and 3 kids. My daughter asked if they had apple juice for the two kids. They did not... next thing you know, they ran next door and got two bottles for us. I was blown away. To say this place is welcoming would be an understatement. The woman who waited on us was so joyous. The menu is extensive. We ordered simple items. The food was delicious. Now this place is all about home cooking. There are seasoned ladies in the back cooking with a passion for their culture. What a great place. At the end, my daughter said that we would be coming back again, and indeed we will. Thank you so much for making our day so special.“

“First time customer. I got two beef tortas and one chicken milanesa torta. The bread was fresh, meat tender and so flavorful with just the right amount of heat. Even the fries were well seasoned and crispy. The cheese, crema and avocado added balance to all the flavors. Excellent service and experience overall. I would have taken photos but I was too busy eating! This will become my Mexican food mainstay from now on.“

“Ordering pickup from El Mexicano is so GREAT! Starting with the AMAZING customer service when calling to order our food. The young lady answers very politely, understands our order and gets it right every-time! It is ready is a very timely manner. It is carefully packed, with salsas and chips. Most orders include a little salad, limes, and yummy chiles. We love the enchiladas verdes, pollo empanizado (breaded chicken cutlet). The arroz and fríjoles are DELICIOUS! The carnitas are so YUMMY too! Definitely recommend!“

“We had our son's high school graduation dinner here and it was amazing!! I met with Alfredo to come up with a prefix menu for our family gathering. From the appetizer of chicken empanada with all the fixings, to filled burritos of every kind, and the amazing atmosphere, this was an amazing day! Alfredo and his staff were attentive to us and we left with our bellies full of authentic Mexican meals!! “I ate at the Monroe store today. I had never been at a Buubakoos before and did not know what to expect. I had the pork burrito and it was off the hook. The place was spotless and the service was spot on. The manager came over and introduced himself as John and asked if everything was satisfactory, and it was more than satisfactory. You would think John was the owner not just the manager, he cared as if was his own business. It was good to see that. I will be back for sure, my new go to place.“

“Best authentic mexican food around. The place is super clean and the people ate very nice with smiles on their faces. Being that we love the food so much and we go quite often I decided to learn Spanish and I communicated what food we wanted in Spanish and to my surprise we got exactly what i asked for. Anyway, I highly recommend this place as the food is so fresh and full of flavor! We get the Empanadas and Huaraches with a side of rice/beans.“

They were definitely the favorite. The fish was tender and nicely seasoned.The seasoning and cook on other things were a little hit or miss. Barbacoa had great taste but too salty, arabes were dry, lengua was disappointingly dry and bland. The salsa verde was used liberally to save many of the tacos.The flautas were nice and crispy but the chicken inside was dry.The tripe had some crunchy bits that some people might like but I found them tough.The campenchanos in the flour tortilla were also a bit salty but I liked how soft the tortilla was.The tamales had nice texture, but the cheese stick inside was strange for me.“

“I had the steak burrito at the Piscataway location today and it did not disappoint. Excellent food and the nachos with Nutella are fire. They had so many fresh made salsa and bottled hot sauce to put on my burrito. I think I found my new Mexican spot. Can't wait to try more of the menu. Highly recommend. 10/10“

“This place is truly something special. It’s an upscale Mexican/Tex-Mex experience that feels incredibly elevated and intentionally designed from the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is dark, mysterious, and absolutely beautiful…every detail feels curated to create a one-of-a-kind vibe.

The cocktails are spectacular. You can tell each drink is crafted with real expertise and attention to detail, not just in flavor, but in presentation and experience. Everything works together, from the fire and smoke to the sparklers, creating such an exciting and immersive moment with every cocktail. I had a mezcal drink that was honestly the best I’ve ever had.

We started with chips, guacamole, and three different salsas, all of which paired perfectly together and complemented the margaritas so well. We also had the chicken tinga tostada, which was loaded and full of flavor. Definitely a standout appetizer.

For dinner, I had the lobster paella risotto and it was incredibly creamy and delicious. I especially appreciated that it focused on lobster and not other seafood elements as I have allergies, which worked perfectly for me. Truly a five-star dish. My boyfriend ordered the chef’s favorite chicken dish and couldn’t even finish it because of how generous the portion was…the chicken was cooked perfectly.

The portions overall are great for the price. You might expect smaller servings because of how upscale it is, but that’s not the case at all.

The sangria (both red and white) was also amazing! Not overly sweet, just perfectly balanced and refreshing. It genuinely felt like summer in a glass.

What made the experience even more special was the attention to detail in hospitality. It was my birthday, and they gave me a sweet birthday card when I arrived and ended the night with a candle to make a wish. Such a thoughtful touch 🩵😭

Before leaving, we walked around to take in the entire space, and it was so cool to see how different each area felt. One side is more intimate and quiet, perfect for smaller tables, while the other is more energetic and designed for larger groups. Even the bar is a whole experience on its own, with flame elements that add to the atmosphere.

We will absolutely be back for another special occasion, and next time hopefully with friends. I can’t wait to try more of their cocktails.

I’d also be remiss if I didn’t mention the service… our server was excellent, and although I do not remember his name, he had such knowledge and expertise of the menu that his suggestions and pairings were spot on. As well as the rest of the wait staff and buster’s collectively working together to make sure we had an upscale dining experience. It felt wonderful to be truly attended to.

She is from MEXICO. People just make me mad sometimes when do stuff like that. If you do not know the gender of someone you don't even know just say 'they' that easy. But after all great food.“
