“Went this evening to try this new place as I was graving some shawarma. Had a beef shawarma that came with olives and pickles. Flavor was very authentic Middle Eastern in both the shawarma and pickles. I also had their fattoush which was very good. 2 people can easily be served from both the shawarma and fattoush! Overall, good food, nice place. Will be back.“

“Had lunch here today with a friend. Ordered my shawarma bowl and mentioned to the girl at the cashier that my throat hurt and I was thinking of hot tea. She put together a cup of tea with fresh ginger and honey — so thoughtful!! And the food is top notch.“

“New to town. Checking out falafel in the area. Came upon The falafel guy on my walk home from YMCA. A small mostly take out joint with Mousa, the master, running the show. Don’t expect the fastest service because everything is made to order. Falafel was top notch. While you’re waiting, don’t be surprised if Mousa offers you a small cup of the soup he’s cooking for the day. His lentil soup was spiced just right and delicious. Prices are reasonable as well!“

“Jerry is the best! He is a special man! He takes pride in every dish. The baba ganoush is my favorite as well as his halvah! A lot more than that is delicious... Yes the falafel too! And it begins with coming into a welcoming, warm place (takeout with some outdoor tables) where people work hard! Prices are very reasonable. Just go and try it!“

“The more convenient place for me than the Clifton London, although I like the atmosphere of the Clifton restaurant a little better. The food though is always good and service is pretty attentive either or not they are busy. The Montclair spot has a very nice outdoors seating section in the back.
Parking can be iffy as it's on-street and there are other restaurants in the area and close spaces seem to get taken quickly. However, if you don't mind a small walk there are plenty of lots and side streets in the area, just mind the meter requirements.“

“I have been a customer of Allegory since June 2023--shortly after I moved to Montclair. The staff is sooo wonderful and caring. It is my adopted Corner Bar. I love the vibe--good food and atmosphere. I am treated as a first class guest every day. Tee Allegory Rocks! I love all of you!!

“What a great place! Passed by here once and our daughter’s name is Madison so I thought it would be fun to try out. Made a reservation for Mother’s Day, probably not the best day to try a new place. We showed up for our 12:15 reservations and despite the mob scene outside, our table was waiting. The food and service were spectacular on a busy day. I can’t wait to come back on a normal day. I had the cauliflower tacos. Amazing, as good as they look in the picture. Wife and daughter had omelettes with salad and potatoes. Neither could finish! Not sure if I can post photos“
