“Ended up here entirely by accident on a Sunday night and the food was absolutely amazing! I got Masaman curry and my husband the drunken noodles with chicken. The vibe is very very casual and the place is clearly run by a family, which is lovely. A warning: listen to the server when deciding on spice level! This is Thai hot not western hot: she suggested a level 1 for us on a scale of 1-5 (I would normally order a 3) and the 1 was plenty spicy. I would definitely come here again. A find for sure!!“

“House of Thai is a hidden gem in Mayfair! The owners are wonderful people that treat you like you’re family! The atmosphere is calm & relaxing & intimate! I’ve been going here for years & they never disappoint. They’re consistent in the flavorful, freshness of their food! I ordered pickup through Uber eats as I haven’t had them in a while & Of course they still didn’t disappoint. They were so quick with making the food! It came fast & was packaged with care! It was warm & fresh & full of flavor! Truly a 5 star experience! I recommend EVERYONE try here! The owners are deserving of local business support as well! Thank you, I will be back again of course! “The 16 ounce Tom Yum Goong hot, spicy and sour shrimp soup, when complimented with a scrambled egg and white rice is a very a inexpensive way to enjoy a delicious hot and sweet delight. The shrimp and vegetables were tasty and was kicked up appropriately. Every ingredient presented in a very balanced way. For $5.99 you can't beat it.“

“We had no idea this restaurant was in our own backyard. We were in the mood for Thai food and thought we’d give this place a try. The dining room itself is somewhat plain, but it serves the purpose, which is to eat great Thai food. The server, Joe was very friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable on their vegan options. We had the coconut soup, which was not only delicious, but beautifully presented. We also had the eggplant basil dish, and vegan Pad Thai. For an appetizer, we ordered golden triangle tofu with peanut dipping sauce, which was also delicious. The tofu was lightly crisp on the outside and moist in the inside. As an added treat, we had the mango sticky rice for dessert. This was the best mango sticky rice we have ever had, with a half of a perfectly ripe mango sliced on top of a minimal amount of the sticky rice. Usually you get the opposite when you order this. Overall, we will be back. What a find!“

Also ordered the appetizer sampler - good but not up to the high standard of the other dishes. Ended the meal with fried bananas and vanilla ice cream. “There is not a more satisfying mall food court pad thai than the dish my partner and I order from Thai Max. We've tried their pad thai, egg rolls, coconut shrimp, mixed vegetables, spicy chicken, bbq chicken, and fried banana and it's all been fresh, hot, and delicious.

Is it the same Thai food that one could expect from a standalone restaurant? Absolutely not!

But if there's a craving for cheap, fast, fresh, and hot Thai food... Thai Max will satisfy.

Portion sizes are absolutely huge. The pad thai is always made fresh on the wok while we wait.

We've been to Thai Max at various times of the year - the busy Christmas season, a slow Monday morning in the springtime - and regardless of the level of traffic at the mall, Thai Max is solidly consistent.“

“It was my first time here, and I loved everything I had to eat that I ate. I was so full I did leave a little bit of food. I generally don't like to waste anything but was very little left really no reason to take home. There is a lot of variety and selection to try. The staff were very polite and very nice and felt like a friendly environment it was an enjoyable, pleasant experience. “This is a very good combination Thai/Chinese restaurant however I think their menu is now abbreviated and they have stopped making the Thai dishes. I have had the Thai food and it was good but usually ordered Chinese dishes which are also very good. They now have very reasonable lunch and dinner specials with choice or rice and eggroll. The dumplings were homemade and you could tell from the thick chewy skin. The egg roll was quite oily but everything else was outstanding so that was fine. Special shout out to the dumpling sauce - I want to know how to make it!! So delicious. Take your own sauces too which I love. I always want extra. “we ordered delivery from Asian chef tonight, and when I got my order (bento box with salmon teriyaki, rice, shrimp shumai, and cucumber avocado roll). Instead of salmon, I ended up receiving shrimp teriyaki. I wasn’t going to call but I figured I may as well just let them know- the employee who answered the phone was so nice and apologetic, and immediately offered to bring me the correct protein that I ordered. I accepted the offer and asked if he wanted me to return the untouched shrimp order, but he said to keep it! then, I expected them to just deliver me the salmon to add to the meal, but they brought me an ENTIRE other bento box with the salmon! I was so shocked! not only that, but they also returned the cash to make up the difference in price on the order. they did NOT have to do that, but it shows so much about their restaurant. we also ordered some sushi, drunken noodles, and a seaweed salad and it did not disappoint at all. we will be ordering from asian chef again soon thanks to their kindness, and their excellent quality food!!“
