“Roast occupies the old SmartWorld location which was desperately in need of refurbishment. The owners accomplished it very nicely. The space is gorgeous and they did a great job creating a room that is inviting and exciting. But it gets crowded during peak times; I recommend going in the afternoon and I’ve never encountered a line or had to wait for my drink. The coffee was good, and I got a chocolate chip cookie, which was also good. This is a very trend-forward space and the owners understand the power of social media in what they are attempting. There is a non-zero chance you will end up in the background of someone’s TikTok while you are here. For that reason, it’s not the greatest place to bring your laptop or answer an email. But if you go next door, Lokl limits your WiFi time (yikes!), so the choice is yours. Roast is a great spot to grab a boutique drink and take a picture for Instagram. Definitely check it out!“

“Absolutely my favorite coffee spot in Morristown. Hands down. I started coming here before the Starbucks closed on the Green because it’s so good. Where do I start. The staff are so bright and friendly, the coffee is wildly strong, the pastries are delightful, and the space is lovely and open and light and modern. It’s a quiet joy to sit down on the couch with my iced coffee and a baked good. I always get the Boston cream donut or the Black Forest cake. This is an offshoot of their main Westfield location. Morristown did them dirty, by demolishing the lot in front of them for a quite unnecessary court building project without even telling the owners. Honestly, Morristown does all of us dirty. Constantly all the time. It’s a ton of noise and drives off customers and it’s virtually impossible to find the store unless you’re looking for it. It sucks because I’ve met the owners and they seem like really good people. This is one spot that I genuinely need to stay here and it’s such a delightful place to visit.“
