“All it took was one recommendation and I’ve been coming here ever since 2017. Staff has great customer service skills, everyone’s patient and the pricing isn’t bad. Parking varies however, on a busy weekend, you’ll be lucky to find parking outside Bovellas. They do have two locations! & the cakes here are wonderful. Strawberry shortcake has became one of my favorites, but they’re all just as great as well as their pastries.“

“An absolute gem added to downtown Berkeley Heights. Everything from start to finish was top notch. Rolls and garlic herb olive oil were tasty. Meatballs and coconut shrimp were excellent starters. Branzino was fresh and the red pepper sauce complimented the fish well. Braised short rib & vincotto chicken were very well constructed dishes. Pistachio tiramisu (homemade) capped off an awesome dinner.Service was on point throughout, very professional with smiling faces. We will be back without a doubt. BYOB and easy parking.“

“This was our 2nd time coming to Red's Leaf Cafe and each time has been outstanding! The food is great and the owner is super friendly and accommodating. We had breakfast the first time, vegan scramble and pancakes and today we went for the Tofu Panini and the Kuku sandwiches. We also had the homemade soup and crispy potatoes. “I've been looking for a local, full service coffee shop that roasts their own beans, sells coffee/espresso, as well as offers breakfast and lunch.**This IS that place**I couldn't tell from their website, but the posts I saw on insta showed that they serve food, and I'm happy to report that it tastes as good as it looks!Very friendly staff and accommodating. Although it's currently the middle of December, I wanted a macchiato over ice, which wasn't on their menu, but when I asked they happily said 'of course'.Seems like I'm going to have to sign up for their points system because I can tell I'm going to be back here a whole lot more.I'm particularly interested in sampling their beans, just wish i didn't have to buy an entire bag of beans. Why don't these local roasters sell sample packs, allowing you to still purchase a pound of beans, but separated into small batches with samples of each bean type? This would allow me to quickly figure out which bean I want to try without having to buy a single large bag and take a month to go through coffee I don't really like before trying the next type . . . “It's been a week and I'm still thinking about the Brioche Custard - Cream. It's a pillowy doughnut, filled with a vanilla bean custard and has a croissant top. I didn't intend to eat the whole thing, but I did. Sorry, not sorry! I also ordered the big coconut. It's a tender brioche bun that is long and very lightly sweet. It was excellent! I sampled the Matcha tiramisu and was wowed by it. I got a Jasmine latte and also loved it. Everything I tried was fantastic. I plan to return soon. The person that helped me was so kind and patient. The store is very organized and has a great vibe. It's an Asian bakery, that also serves tea and coffee. Everything is individually wrapped, and you bring what you want to purchase up to the counter. Their desserts are so fresh and different. I'm typically not a fan of Asian desserts, but these were best in class.“

“I see this place when we pass by. I have never stopped in until today. First I thought they onlySold tea. However, much to my surprise they have coffee too. There are other shops nearby that we had visited and it was time to compare. The mocha latte was very good. Tasty in all the right ways without over powering with the mocha. My husband had the chai tea and he said it was good too. MySon ordered the cheese empanada. Now that one did hurt because by where we live they only cost $2 and not $5. The barista was helpful in answering any questions we had.We sat in the new area while we waited. We played a couple rounds of tic tac toe. They also have a small children’s library selection.“

“Tasty food with lots of choices for the whole family. We did takeout for 5 items: --Wok Fried Noodles - bouncy and satisfying! --Bao Sampler Platter - Really good, especially with chili oil! This came with different fillings: Pork with Scallion, Chicken with Corn, and Beef with Onion and you can have them steamed or fried. I super recommend getting their add-on of Spicy Minced Pork Chili Oil which really elevates this dish. --Jasmine Boba Tea (customized for my request of zero ice, zero sugar) - pretty good, but the boba was kinda hard. --Crab and Pork Soup Dumplings - Pretty good. These are very likely much better eaten in the restaurant. In general, the filling was slightly too dense and the wrapper was a little too thick compared to the same dish I've had elsewhere. --Bao Chicken - A family fave. This came with 3 pieces of broccoli and was heavy on the chicken which had a light coating and yummy sauce. The portion lasted my kids several meals. With food this good, this spot can take a bao. ;)“

The drink menu is creative with seasonal specials as well a milieu of regular caffeine requests. I opted for an iced vanilla cinnamon latte. Eventhough the weather is getting chilly, it's impossible for me to transition to hot coffee just yet so no judgement, thank you! Espresso was quality and the tres leches donut was a dream. To balance, I split a turkey and cheese croissant with my partner. It was brought warm, cheesy melted, was especially comforting. Service was stealth and kind. They took the order thoughtfully and my items were ready in less than 5 minutes. All came deliciously prepared. There was decent seating while people were studying and chatting, a great space to rest and relax with good seating for those who are disabled or in chronic pain too. My visit was practically perfect, but the prices are steep with $6+ for a small latte. If you need any coffee accountrements like filters, pour over materials, fredh espresso beans, this is also a great spot.“
