“The Kani Salad Sando is killer! This sandwich is LARGE and tasty. Soft, fluffy white bread (which I usually don't like) holds the perfectly put together Sando like a big hug. Be prepared to be full! The atmosphere is cute & comfy and service is lovely. Our waiter was sweet & attentive. The seaweed salad was fresh and bright. I'll definitely be back to try everything on this menu. ⚡“

“The food is top notch. From the soup to the sushi. Even the ice cream is delicious. What really bothers me though is the service. There is a 90 minute time limit which I get but when you are rushed to get out by an hour that’s not right. Also when you’re hounding tables waiting to literally take a plate because you have nothing else to do that’s a problem. Finally when you’re coming up to tables and asking them for platters back because you don’t have enough supposedly that’s not good either. Last night I was hounded constantly. Twice I had people tell me to move my sushi to my paper plate because they needed the platter. May I suggest buying more platters. Love the food and yes I know I’ll be back but the service was ridiculous in your face. Don’t come here for date night because they don’t leave you alone“

“I love coming to Wasai Bistro whenever I’m visiting the east coast. I’ve followed Chef Nelson since his days at Aozora and Wabi Sabi. His food quality, menu options, and value are unmatched in the area. Once you try his food you will understand why he has so many repeat diners. I highly recommend the Mes Reves Roll, Uni and bone marrow ramen, Miso glazed sea bass entree and salmon lover entree but it’s very hard to go wrong with anything Chef Nelson serves. Parking is street parking only but honestly I’ve always had a very easy time finding a spot. BYOB so you can drink what you love.“

“I have been coming to Momotaro for almost two years and have never been disappointed. I don’t only show up on occasion. I come once a week. The food is never bad. The quality is always consistent, delicious, and fresh. But what I enjoy most is the service and attention they always give. The entire staff is attentive and considerate. Sherry has been my server for most of my outings and she’s always friendly. She pays attention to every detail of my order even when it’s annoyingly specific. I will continue coming here for all my sushi needs!“

“A favorite for sure. I’ve always experienced great and friendly customer service. My family and I have eaten here more times than I can count. Our go to meal is the chicken teriyaki. The portions are large and I’ve shared a single order between three or four people before. The portions have gotten a bit smaller recently, but it’s still plenty of food and easy to share. “I had the honor privilege and luck of being the very first customer to be served at Kanpachi Sushi during their grand opening on 4/29/2022. The very first think I noticed was how friendly and inviting the staff is, they make you feel welcome the second that you step into their establishment. The second thing I noticed was the how the new renovation which makes you want to come in and have a seat at a table or sit at the sushi bar to watch the sushi master construct your order before your eyes. I am impressed with the addition of this new business to Amboy Ave. The food is fresh, top-quality ingredients prepared by a world class chief and sushi master. I had lunch there yesterday and today. Oh, and did I mention that Kanpachi is a BYOB establishment? Sushi steak and Hibachi lovers, do yourself a favor and get over there. I am making this my go to spot for lunch or dinner, I give Kanpachi 5 stars. Thank you for picking Amboy Ave to open your sushi house.“

“Loved it !!! The stuff was really polite and nice. The little Japanese details on the decoration were amazing like the cats, lamps and chairs. I first ordered sushi and dumplings thought DoorDash and the taste was amazing, the dumplings were warm and crunchy and the sushi surprised me. Then I just went in person and I got a dinner box which I didn’t know it also had misu soup included!! A really good price for all of the food included. My dinner box had an entire meal. I didn’t know a salmon could have that much flavor!! Also everything was tasteful, fresh and delicious even tho I’m a picky eater.“

“One of the best things about Sakura is that the prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. The portions are generous, and even the more elaborate rolls don’t feel overpriced. One of the things I really appreciate about this place is that it’s perfect for both me and my girlfriend. We have different tastes. I’m a huge fan of raw sushi and she prefers cooked dishes. Thankfully, Sakura offers plenty of great options for her too. Her favorite is the Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box. This place strikes the perfect balance of quality, variety and value. “Great little story: more than 20 years ago I found myself inexplicably single (lol) and walked into Mitsuba (Chatham) just as it opened — I might have been their second-ever customer. I scanned the menu and wanted a lot of sushi, but not the Full “Love Boat.” I told them, “I’m not in love, and that’s too much food. Can I get something about half the size and half the price?”
They brought out what you see in the photo. I was satisfied and joked, “When I come back, can we call this the Lonely Boat?” And that’s how it stuck. It isn’t on the menu, but if you walk in and ask for “Mr. Howard’s Lonely Boat,” they’ll know what you mean.
I even suggested making it a Monday special — “Lonely Boat Mondays.” Imagine single folks showing up for a Lonely Boat, striking up conversations, and maybe two lonely diners eventually turning their Lonely Boats into Love Boats. Plus lets face it folks, hands down.....the best Sushi in NJ without any question!“

“My family has been coming here weekly for about 3 years now. The staff is extremely friendly, and they always talk to and play with our children (2 and 4). We always do sushi, but our kids do the udon noodles and sometimes the sesame/general tso chicken and we have not been disappointed. We recommend this restaurant to everyone.“

“As an Army veteran on Veterans Day, I waited 40 min just to be seated and another 45 minutes with 6 others at the table and still no food on the hot grill in front of us. Several other tables were empty and only two other tables of 8 had chefs cooking up some food, so the place was not crowded. I got up and left. Super disappointing.“
