9 Best Bakeries in Newark

“The fruit tarts and cakes are so pretty and well decorated! We got a lemon dessert cake thing (sorry I didn’t catch the name) it was… very rich, the icing was a bit too sweet and dense for me. The bread we got is like a sweet roll, I was anticipating something super light and fluffy like a Japanese bread, but it wasn’t. It tasted fine, but wasn’t what I was hoping for. The egg tarts and pastry tarts were all very good! They have different flavors such as orange, almond, plain and then egg tarts and fruit tarts. My favorite was the fruit tart.

Parking: Good luck finding parking! Most people just double parked in the area and just had the four ways lights blinking, it was a mad house! We went in the evening on a weekend, not sure about other days or times.“

“I grew up in Union City and have had Cuban Food most of my life...I've had Cuban Sandwiches from many places but Honestly this is one of Best I've had...the Penil on the Sandwich is tender and savory. Great Bread and some nice desserts. A Newark Gem!“

“We stopped here to gather so treats while we were in New Jersey. The cheesecakes, as always, were delicious and creamy. The tri color pastry was dry. Jelly very tart and good, but the cake part was not. (The tri color cookies were too :(.) The fruit tart was good. The tart cup was crumbly and cinnamony, but the middle part was soggy and falling apart. The chocolate mousse cake was absolutely amazing!! Cake was moist and cream was light.
The cookies: linzer tart was soft and jelly was great and tart, pine nut cookie was soft and chewy- I didn't like it. The jelly cookie was good, tasted like like an Italian cookie should. Overall it was delicious and we'll be back!“
