“WOWW! What an experience... I went on Thursday afternoon and it was starting to pick up early dinner. I was pretty hungry so I ordered an Eggs Benedict and an order of pancakes. The eggs Benedict was one of the best I have had in a long time. The English muffin was toasted to perfection. The pancakes were the best pancakes I have had hands down, they were so fluffy and loaded with strawberries. They DO NOT skimp on portions here. I was so content with my meal that I got a slice of Canoli Cheesecake to go that sent me into a deep food coma. The service was incredible as it was my first time there. I will definitely return to this diner. The manager Mike gave me a great table and was super friendly, great guy. It was special and when asked for the price was quoted one thing and then the bill came in it was $6 more. “This was a laid-back, divey type of bar that supported the Packers as there was memorabilia throughout the inside. There were a few tables with mostly high tops surrounding the bar as well as outdoor seating with televisions. The menu had a few unique bar features along with over 140 wing flavors. Two types of wings and the special empanadas were ordered. The wings came eight to an order and seemed to be of good quality. They were meaty and large too. The sauces that were picked were awesome sauce ($14) and the Pickle Me Elmo Pickle Dressing ($15). The awesome sauce seemed to be a yum yum sauce but could not be exactly sure as the menu did not provide a description and just stated 'don't' ask - It's awesome." Regardless, it was very tasty. It was not spicy at all if unfamiliar with yum yum sauce. The pickle sauce was decent. I would have preferred more of the sauce present, but it was okay at best. The special empanada consisted of hot sausage and mozzarella. There were two to an order and they were big. The overall empanada was extremely crispy. There was plenty of filing and it seemed to be more of a chorizo texture than sausage, but it was still great. Will I go back? Definitely.“

And WOW, were we impressed!We tried the zucchini crips, deviled eggs, Caesar salad, shroom pie and b&b pie…and everything was amazingly delicious. I never thought I’d be so impressed with a zucchini appetizer…but they nailed it. You’ll never want a zucchini fry again after these. The deviled eggs were perfect, and I’m REALLY picky about eggs in all forms. The Caesar salad may have been the best I’ve ever had, with a lightness and freshness that most others lack. And the pies…that DOUGH! So good. The char and flavor were perfect. Never knew what bresaola was until eating it on the b&b, and boy was I happy to meet it. Can’t wait to come back to try more pies!The cocktails we tried (lavender haze and applewood old fashioned) were also a delight, and we’re really looking forward to trying the coconut cake and gluten-free chocolate cake we got to go.Our waitress was super friendly and attentive, as was the rest of the staff we encountered. “We absolutely love this place, from the food, to the cozy atmosphere, to the friendly staff and excellent service. It's perfect whether you're here on a date, or for a meal with family or friends. If you don't want a full sit-down meal, you can always find a convivial gathering around the happenin' bar. The menu consists of popular Italian and American favorites like chicken, veal, pastas, salads, steak, seafood, burgers/sandwiches, and a well-rounded selection of appetizers. Nothing trendy but all extremely solid options and consummately prepared. You're greeted with a plate of warm bread and black olives when you sit down. The house wines are quite good and a gracious pour. (A wine shop attached to the restaurant is run by the same people.) The steak is perfection - flawlessly seared to my requested medium rare, and seasoned just right. I've also really enjoyed the fish and chicken dishes here. The tilapia is so tender. Even the sides are outstanding - I couldn't believe how good the sauteed spinach in the chicken saltimbocca was! And the fries are amazing - piping hot and crispy, and perfectly seasoned as well. We've also had the seafood paella which is full of seafood but more of a cioppino with its tomato-based broth than a true paella which has a dry texture, but is tasty nonetheless. We'll be back often to eat our way through the rest of the menu, I'm sure. A happy hour menu is offered from 4-6p on Tue/Wed/Thu. As mentioned, they have a great bar, and the changing seasonal cocktail offerings are delightful. The staff are warm and wonderful, and we were made to feel welcomed each time. Mike the owner came up to introduce himself the very first time we came here. You can tell they take care to know their customers, and seem to have a loyal local clientele (one of whom recommended the Tavern to us). Our meal was perfectly coursed - never rushed nor too slow. I noticed our server discreetly checking on us several times to make sure we were done with our appetizers before the entrees were brought out in impeccable timing. A small table lamp illuminates the menu without harshing the romantic mellow. The unobtrusive noise level means you can actually have a conversation without shouting across the table. These are details, but the sum of these parts differentiates a good restaurant experience from a great one.“
