“We dined at Robert’s for the first time. We were celebrating a relative’s birthday. The food was outrageous! The appetizers were amazing as were all of the entrees. I had chicken stuffed with mushrooms and I can honestly say that it was the best chicken I have ever eaten. The portions were plentiful. We had a large selection of desserts to choose from at the end of the meal. I chose one particular dessert but before mine came out, I asked if I could exchange it for one that someone in our party had in front of her. No problem. They accommodated me and it was beyond delicious. Also, the staff was very attentive during our whole meal. They could not have been any better. The only negative was the fact that there was also another birthday celebration going on at the same time and it was so noisy that we couldn’t hear each other talk. Despite that, I wouldn’t hesitate to return to this fabulous restaurant.“

Her experience behind the bar should never go unnoticed. I’ve been coming here for over a decade and she’s always stood out among anyone else back there.“

“My first visit to Charlie Blood's definitely won’t be my last.
We started with the baked clams, which were fresh, flavorful, and the perfect way to kick things off. The bar pie was exactly what you want from a classic Jersey tavern pie—thin, crispy, and packed with flavor.
For mains, the steak with shrimp scampi was outstanding. The steak was cooked perfectly and the shrimp scampi added that rich, buttery garlic flavor that made the whole dish stand out. The Drunken Onion Burger was another highlight—juicy, loaded with caramelized onions, and just downright satisfying. The owner even came out with some of their dessert options to try which ended the night perfectly.
The food, atmosphere, and overall experience made for a great first visit. Safe to say I’ll 100% be back to try even more on the menu. If you’re in the area and looking for great food in a classic local spot, Charlie Blood’s is absolutely worth the stop.“

After driving for almost 5 hours, sitting in rush hour traffic and construction, this diner made our day and on a really great note.“

I have been to many buffets that sort of seem picked over as the day goes on. Not here! We had the last seating and everything was plentiful and fresh. The dining rooms were festive with pastel napkins and flowers. It was also not noisy at all even though every table was full. The staff was very attentive and we were not rushed at all. “Joined a couples of friends at the Bar for the late night happy hour. My server Tamyra was excellent and went above and beyond to make sure our stay top notch. The bartender Dre was very attentive to our needs and the manager Chad came around to make sure everything was going well. The food was good but the drinks were even better and the late night happy prices were even better. I met the manager Ora on Wine Wednesdays, where certain bottles of wine are half price and she promised to carry more bottles of Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc. I had a burger, onion rings and a chocolate milk shake. All 3 were delicious. My husband had the hot pastrami and French fries. Both were excellent. We highly recommend.“

Food was better than I expected but we were not there for the food. We were there for the spectacle and show. Medieval Times delivered. The horses, the jousting, the falcon , the pageantry was amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Service was warm, welcoming and efficient. Definitely recommend going at least once!“

My husband had the classic burger with French fries and it was huge and cooked to perfection. He said it was juicy and full of flavor with all the toppings. We both liked that the French fries came in a metal cup container because it kept the temperature longer which allowed us to eat them warm. I chose the green tea iced tea and thought it was perfectly not too sweet. Hubby got plain iced tea and it was unsweetened and terrific too. Prices are comparable to the area with tip just under $60.“

The staff were so welcoming and child-friendly. I have never been anywhere as child-friendly in Bergen County. Their outside seating area is perfect for families with young children in tow.
