“Listen!!!!!!! I’m one of the biggest critics when it comes to food, and I’m usually the first person to jump online and give a bad review when something isn’t right. HOWEVER… D&J Country Cooking is absolutely AMAZING. 💯 I was a little disappointed that they don’t offer dine-in, because I would’ve loved to enjoy my food hot at a table. Instead, I ended up eating it in my car. But let me tell you — it was still worth it. I ordered the fish, yams, and mac & cheese… and it was incredible. Everything was seasoned perfectly and tasted like real home cooking. When I walked in, I was welcomed by a very kind elderly woman who greeted me with eye contact, a warm attitude, and great recommendations. She was sweet, helpful, and really made me feel comfortable about trying the food. It was a true example of Southern hospitality. I’m giving this spot 9 stars. It would’ve been a full 10 if they had dine-in seating, because the food is so good it deserves to be enjoyed fresh at a table. Hopefully they consider adding a sit-down option in the future because it would really take the experience to another level. I’ll definitely be back. I’ve got to try the neckbones on Wednesday or Thursday next time. Great spot!!!!!“

What really makes this place stand out is the friendly owner, who remembers you by name and always makes you feel welcome. My kids absolutely LOVE coming here, and it has quickly become their favorite restaurant!

In fact, this is quite a comfortable and good looking place. Whether it's in a strip mall or not is irrelevant (mentioning it only for those who chose to ignorantly judge that aspect), as it's the quality of the place that counts over where it's located.

I've been in the area before, but didn't notice it. It was only after seeing it was on an episode of Kitchen Nightmares did it pique my interest. After seeing the episode, I made it a point to come here and try this place. I was glad I did.

As mentioned, inside is really nice and my kind of place. Very comfortable, casual, and a good spot to get a meal or just to hang out. With so many TV's, I would imagine that this would make a great sports bar/restaurant as well.

There's a choice of table, booth, or bar to sit and I chose the booth as I usually do. The food menu is pretty decent and filled with enough options. I chose the Mozzarella sticks for the table and the 'Lunch Money Burger' for myself. The sticks were pretty big, but tasted good. The burger was okay, but I can't say it was the best I've ever had. The fries had a unique taste to them and were quite good.

The waitresses were very friendly and attentive.

Parking is plentiful as this does share the space with several other businesses since it's located in a mall.

Overall, this is a nice place that I'd have come to whether or not it was featured in the show. Being on the show is what got me to notice this place and now that I know it's here, if I'm in the area again I would surely come back.“

But what is compelling me to post this was truly the regarding the service I received here. It brought me to tears!!! Patricio and Dylan were the most considerate, kind, attentive and understanding waiters I have ever met in my entire life. After dining in the tri-state area my whole life, exploring cities like Chicago and LA through food, I’ve been conditioned and numb to lackluster waitstaff and typically take the approach of trying just to avoid them spitting in my food, but Patricio and Dylan completely floored me in their attention to detail, knowledge, and service that showed me exactly what good waiters could be. Living with GI issues and intolerances, I consistently feel like an inconvenience at restaurants and that the entire responsibility of making sure I don’t fall ill after dining is based on how I modify the menu and pick around my plate. EXCEPT here at Rails with Patricio and Dylan, I had the first care-free dining experience in my life, their thoughtfulness allowed me to be truly present with my family, enjoy the wonderful food being served, and just live in the moment, which is so important to me. Dylan was explicit in the detail of every dish and always helped me navigate what was coming around and being served. Now, back to the tears, when I subtly mentioned in passing to Patricio that I couldn’t eat dairy and couldn’t partake in the birthday cake, he brought me a delicious sorbet flight, unprompted, just so that I could feel a part of the festivities.
