“If you’re looking for amazing Dominican comfort food, Un Chin Grab & Go is a must. The fried chicken is perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy inside, full of flavor. The burger was honestly one of the best I’ve had in a long time—fresh, well-seasoned, and stacked just right.

We also ordered the picadera to share and it was loaded with variety. Everything came out hot, fresh, and seasoned perfectly. You can tell they don’t cut corners with the food.

The service was quick and friendly, and the place has a great vibe for grabbing good food with friends or family. Definitely coming back to try more from the menu. Highly recommend!“

“Y son had cachapa with a friend about 2 weeks ago and has been raving ever. We finally went with him on Saturday and returned on Sunday. We ordered cachapas, Chimi, yaroa and monfonguitos. All were good I would say the portions are big for 1 person small for 2. The juices were good as well.“

Barely touched my pasta with preserved lemon because I was full, but it was delicious. My daughter’s burger was iconic. The Platonic ideal of hamburgers. Coffee was also delicious. If we had not made a plan to go to La Cabral for dessert and more coffee, I am sure dessert would have been equally excellent.Service was excellent and our waitress was knowledgeable and interested in the food.The fluke reminded me of the first time I went to USC in 1988. I had a plate with raw marinated tuna, raw salmon and raw scallops. The little heaps of fish were so pretty on the plate with their contrasting colors.“

“I had a wonderful experience here celebrating someone’s birthday! The staff were very attentive and every dish was a hit.

We splurged for the 14 day aged duck and it was so worth it — it’s now my favorite duck I’ve had in NYC! I’d recommend coming with st least 4 people if you order it.

The pan con tomate and frog legs were surprise hits for me, and I loved the chai tres leches cake for dessert.“

“This was my second time at Blue Hill, although my last visit was several years ago before they moved to the Family Meal concept. And I really like it. Each course comes with an assortment of dishes that you can mix and match at your own pace, which makes the whole meal feel relaxed and fun.

I sat at the bar, and both the atmosphere and service were excellent as always. Every course was fantastic, and this is such a great time of year to visit when there are so many amazing vegetables in season. One course highlighted several different peppers, including a specially developed habanero that had all of the sweetness and none of the heat. Really cool! The dessert was really interesting as well as it incorporated Sungold tomatoes. I don’t think I’ve ever had tomatoes in a dessert before, but it was inspired and worked beautifully. A fantastic dinner. I’ll definitely be returning.“

“NYC classic spot. Came solo on a weekday afternoon. I was able to get a seat by the bar in 15 mins. The staff is friendly & it was a full house. My burger came out pretty quickly and the food was delicious and a very generous portion. I would have skipped the drink for a soda instead. “this place was gorgeous! To be honest I’m not a fan of the furniture because not only is the price outrageous but the furniture is not my color scheme. But I always wanted to eat at this restaurant. It’s very pretty upstairs with the chandeliers and the greenery. The bathroom is very clean and gorgeous. I sat inside because it was really hot yesterday. The booth is very comfortable. I just had the smashed avocado toast. They use a whole avocado for this. It’s almost like it’s a little too much avocado? But I ate most of it. I think half avocado would suffice. It’s also got a little bit of an expensive price tag but it was the only thing I really wanted on the menu. Service was very friendly as well.“

“After a cold and windy morning, not being able to get into one of the morning shows, we ran across this little restaurant by accident for brunch. They quickly welcomed us in with open arms and fresh hot coffee. It was one of the best brunches I've ever had, but what made it even more special was Joey the owner overheard our story, knowing we had a rough morning, and gifting us one of his comfort food cookbooks! Each dish came out as it was made and each dish was absolutely delicious. A person in our party had a gluten allergy which was no problem and accommodated with ease. We come to NY every year and this will absolutely be a place we revisit again and again! Vegans, vegetarians and omnivores alike will appreciate the dishes and be amazed with the taste! A little way from Washington Square Park, you walk down a quiet side street and step into a quiet, refined shelter. The kitchen staff behind the reception dais move with practiced ease, which is always a fun show.

You'll be welcomed to large wooden tables that may not be redwood, but recall northern California.

The waiters are incredibly attentive and preempted what we wanted throughout the night.

The food itself was vibrant. Elevated California cuisine that uses seasonal herbs and vegetables from local gardens.

For our meal, we split the following:

Vadouvan Roll: I'm glad I ordered this over the sourdough, because it was revelatory. The rolls are soft, and moist on the inside and paired perfectly with the salad. It set expectations high for the night.

Tomato and plum salad: A highlight. Heirloom tomatoes dressed impeccably and contrasted by the plums. The leftover tomato and plum juice made for a fantastic scarpetta.

Tuna: Fantastic. Absolutely get some and the sauce they came served in was delicious.

Island creek oysters: Inventive, and unlike other oysters I've had.

Black cod: My favorite dish. It was moist, fluffy, and fatty. Paired incredibly well with the butternut sauce. The waiters brought us bread to mop up the sauce and leftover fish.

Corn Rice: Pairs perfectly with the black cod. There's a sour ingredient I couldn't figure out that was like a little pop of color in my mouth.

Wagyu NY Strip: A very well executed NY strip, but honestly, I would skip it in favor of the cod and squab.

Squab: A unique experience, and a delicious one. Did I feel a bit feral gnawing on a tiny baby dove leg? Yes. Would I do it again? Yes.

Waffle: Looked fantastic, tasted even better.

Liquorice ice cream: I adore liquorice, so this was a treat.

Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant for upscale dining.

Side note: as a lifelong sparkling water fan, I did appreciate the fact that the water wasn't wimpy.“

One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. And I am perfectly ok to say it was even better than Le Bernadin For Seafood in the area it is absolutely incredible. Service was impeccable. Issa was my server and she made me feel so special dining solo. I can see myself being a regular.“

The place was fairly empty as many restaurants were this last mid July weekend in the city, but one of the owners was out bartender and server. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Leonora who shared restaurant recommendations and talked about how she had wanted to create a locals spot with Poppy’s and she has accomplished that. Many repeat customers. Talking so much I forgot to take photos of the food. I had the avocado toast which was great and generous. My partner had the omelette, also good.
