About S&P Lunch

S&P Lunch is an old school soup and sandwich joint located near the Flatiron building and Madison Square Park. They offer a good selection of traditional sandwiches, with some local specials like The Lil' Shonda and the Mel Brooks sandwich. The fries are perfectly salted and tasty, and they also serve delicious matzoh ball soup. The atmosphere resembles a cute diner, adding to the experience. The place has attentive service, is clean, and kid-friendly, making it a great spot for a quick meal with quality and tradition. Visitors often enjoy the Reuben sandwich, which features melt-in-your-mouth pastrami, and the menu includes other favorites like tuna melt and onion rings. Some reviews mention that the food is better than most delis and that the staff is excellent. While there may be occasional wait times for seating, especially during busy hours, the food comes out really fast and is super tasty and filling. It's a popular choice for those seeking an authentic New York sandwich, as the pastrami Reuben and lox have received high praise. S&P Lunch is a must-visit for anyone wanting to keep authentic spots alive in the city.

Such a lovely place with a really welcoming atmosphere. The staff were genuinely friendly and made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. It’s the kind of service that makes you want to come back. The Ruben sandwich was absolutely delicious—fresh, full of flavour, and definitely one of the best I’ve had. Great food, great service, and a really enjoyable experience overall. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a relaxed spot with excellent food.

10 out of 10.
So good. Full circle for me as I went to court street grocers years ago in Brooklyn so it was great to recap this awesome breakfast sandwich. Got the egg cheese and pastrami, it was primo. My wife got the rubean. Next time getting the pastrami on rye with mustard. Can't wait. Coffee was tasty too.
All drinks and syrups are homemade.
Staff was also so great!
We got there early on a sunny Sunday right at 9 am.
Zero line zero wait.

I had the tuna melt, fries, and a cola. I was sat quickly and the food came out just as fast. 10/10, I will 100% visit again!
