The difference between the Fischer location and the one I used to go to is night and day. Definitely worth the extra few minutes drive!!!“

“Not flashy, simple, deli kind of set up. almost hole in the wall. My first impression was....ummm..naa..but since my wife picked up the place, I kind of kept quiet and was willing to try it. Boy was I wrong!! This place turned out to be AMAZING. Probably one of the best Mexican food we have had. Ask for a burrito with BBQ sauce inside it.“

“I randomly stumbled into this place last night, and I was honestly really impressed! The Quesabirria were delicious! The tortillas were crispy, the beef was tender and flavorful, and the cheese added a nice richness. The flavors of the onions, cilantro, and lime tied it all together, making for a wonderful eating experience! And let's not forget about the dipping broth, which was packed with flavor! Dipping the tacos in the broth followed by the hot sauce was amazing!

The service was also great. The lady at the counter was really friendly and helped me feel at home. I would highly recommend this place for some really great birria! I hope I get a chance to come back :)“

“Authentic Mexican food. I had the chili Relleno which was delicious. The chilequiles verde con carne were a very light green that I have never seen before but they were not lacking in flavor....they were pretty good. The tamales were a bit dry however. Last time we had tacos al pastor which were delicious. The owners are very nice and friendly. A nice find. They only have 4 tables inside. They do mostly takeout...but both times we ate in and noticed alot of repeat customers and the owners greeting them. Nice customer interaction. I will go back and continue to try new things!“

“I’m about a month behind on this review but I love this restaurant! The food is always good and we always get great service. I ordered two Caja Loca packs and some extra stuff for my husband’s birthday back in August. I came by the day before and paid for it all, told them when I needed it, and it was super easy to take care of. I came by the next day and it was hot and ready for us. They were very sweet and the food was incredible. And it fed a bunch of us! Love El Pollito Loco and their staff. Thanks for making my husband’s birthday special. You guys are great!“

I am so glad I forewent a boardwalk slice or gyro and went here instead. The Birria tacos were delicious- braised breef and crispy shell, with the most perfect consume. The Mexican corn was absolutely insane - the combo of flavors delicious! And the best empanada I’ve ever had? It was mouth watering and melty. Just a little place on Main St. Clientele this nite was mostly Mexican..and the food was the best we'd ever had! Yes..be prepared to wait awhile..everything is made to order..but what arrives is astonishing. Fresh..carefully prepared...delicious! And so inexpensive that we felt guilty not eating it all. Best place for Mex in Asbury Park. NOTE: No liquor license so bring your own.“

“This is an authentic as you can get in this area… this isn’t your typical sit down restaurant though. The finest Mexican, and indeed some of the finest tasting food I’ve ever had. Been going for years. They have Prepared hot bar of 2 or 3 choices of meat or sometimes eggs in different sauces, and the plater comes with rice, beans, and tortillas.
Otherwise you can order anything off the menu. The Tortas are particularly good if you order, however it is usually hard to pass up what they are serving.“

You can sit outside on the picnic benches to eat or get your food ordered to go. Call ahead if you would like and pick up or pull over and enjoy some great food. “I tried a quick lunch at Surf Tacos in Manasquan. Cool place, clean with a beachy vibe and interior. Service was prompt, which is always good. I ordered the $15 plate with 2 tacos, chips, beans, rice, and a drink that is a substantial meal. Opted for a Mahi and a Surf (breaded cod) taco to mix it up. They have a nice salsa bar, and I tried a little of them all. Drink offers soda or a tea dispenser.
The Cod taco was heavily breaded and not very tasty. Salsa helped. The Mahi was blackened and offered plenty of taste. I'd order it again.
Overall, I was pleased with this taco combo as a lunch option. Service and restaurant were nice, I'll visit again.“
