“Been a while since we went to Axton’s, but my wife and I will be celebrating 30 years this week, we thought we’d start with a fine dinner WTH Chef Anton. Early on a Sunday during the summer was far from their busy time, so we had a chance to chat. For starters, we shared an apple mango salad. Shame on me for not reading the menu. The dressing is apple mango. Home made! I was looking for mango in the salad. Apple, craisins, two kinds of cheese…. Perfect for a hot July day. My wife ordered the shrimp marinara over spinach instead of pasta. Delicious and even more impressive was that the shrimp had their tails removed. A great touch. The piece de resistance was my scallop special. Scallops topped with Crabcake coating topped with bacon. Served over a bed of spinach with cherry tomatoes and more. My wife called it spectacular. I thought it was a taste of heaven. Couldn’t figure out one taste in the sauce. Originally thought mango, but there was none in the salad. Had to ask if it was peach? Mango was the winner. The dish was a bigger winner!”

“One of the best subs I’ve had! It tastes super fresh. I got the red pepper mayonnaise and there’s nothing more to say about it other than how good it was! The hot dogs were really good too. Owner was super friendly as well. No complaints from me! We WILL be back.”

“Our first time going to the Totowa location (met up with friends for lunch). Staff was very friendly and helpful - we decided to eat outside and they brought the food to us quickly. We had the tacos, regular bowl with carnitas and fajita bowl with steak and pina-mango drink. Food was very tasty and freshly made. Will come back to try El Pastor. Definitely recommend Sombrero Tacoria.”

“This is likely my favorite cafe thanks to solid service, food, drinks, ambiance (quiet😊). I like to pick up the in-house sealed earl grey kcups as well as the moroccan mint kcups for home. The avocado toast, banana pudding, cheese danish were all delish!”

“One of our favorite sushi spots in NJ!! They use environmentally sustainable packaging and almost always give us something “on the house” usually either some crab Rangoon, or a few extra pieces of different kinds of sushi to try.
They recently took their sweet and sour chicken off the menu which was a bummer since it was sooo good and crispy, but it got my picky eater to branch out and try sushi and he ended up loving it! Hands down the most bang for your buck sushi spot in the area. I would order takeout from here every night if I could! Can’t rave about Epoch enough!”

“The Pizza is Fantastic. My 10 yr old was having a blah day. He said the only thing that could fix it was pizza. It had to be in Pompton Lakes and it had to be Nicky G's. We had 2 slices each (which is a lot for him), a Yoohoo for him and a Nicky G's Vanilla soda for me. It was definitely worth the cost, which wasn't expensive at all.”

“I’m not a big review guy but this place is one of those exceptions because of how FANTASTIC the food here is. I don’t eat out much and prefer eating healthier at home because eating out makes me feel bad BUT THIS PLACE NEVER makes me feel like poop. A+++++++ ”

“This little mom-and-pop coffee shop is such a cozy gem! The iced coffee is absolutely delicious—smooth, and perfectly done—but it’s the atmosphere that really makes it special. It gives off that laid-back, lounge-with-a-book kind of vibe, with ceramic painting in the back (so cute!) and a few board games scattered around. Whether you’re coming for brunch, bringing the kids, or planning a low-key date, it’s the kind of place that feels warm, welcoming, and effortlessly charming.”

The service was impeccable from start to finish; the staff was attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. As for the food, every dish was a masterpiece—beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. From the perfectly seasoned appetizers to the mouthwatering entrees, each bite was a delight. The freshness of the ingredients and the chef's skillful preparation were evident in every course. They are both so nice and we spoke to great lengths about the different types of ice cream and quality along with their business in general. They are both so warm and friendly and know the ice cream business well! What a great experience! 😀 Their ice cream tastes great and they have awesome flavors, toppings, and options! Go and see Greg and Song for some fantastic ice cream in a warm and friendly atmosphere! You won't regret it! 🍦🍦🍦HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!🍦🍦🍦”

“As many regulars of this wonderful Pompton Lakes spot know, on April 17th they had a serious fire causing the closing the business indefinitely. An incredible loss to Pompton Lakes and the many customers who called Golden Garden their regular place. I did for well over 10 years. Please keep the two wonderful ladies, if you are a regular you know who I mean, in your thoughts as they and their families chart a course forward and eventually come back from this devastating loss. I know Golden Garden and the people that worked so hard will be sorely missed by so many in Pompton Lakes. It's a very sad moment deleting this one from my speed dial. Dan S.”

“This is a classic New Jersey pizzeria. Owner is very nice. The workers are very nice and one thing I noticed about this restaurant is they are very, very clean, which says a lot nowadays. I’ve had different slices throughout the years and it’s always good today. I tried the buffalo slice. This one was pretty good. There was a lot of cheese on it and when they make their buffalo slice, they have the tomato sauce with it so it depends on your preference. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone in the area next time.”

“Highly recommend. Walked in to see about 6+ specialty pies to try. I ordered a spinach/ricotta & a broccoli/ricotta was amazing. Hot fresh & great taste. They do have a sit down server area with a full menu as well. Service was fast and professional. Definitely stopping by again….”

“Chef’s Kiss!!! Came here for lunch one day and was pleasantly surprised. The ceviche de chicharron was something I’m going to crave. All three entrees we ordered were made with love. Like no short cuts. Also it’s run by a husband and wife couple which I love so much. Go support your local small businesses out there. And you deserve some really good food! We will be back.”
