“I was in town to visit to see cats at Rahway Kitty Hall. This restaurant is right next store. I stopped into get something to eat. I was impressed with the ambience of the restaurant. My Spanish is not so great, but the staff was very welcoming and accommodating. The food I had was very good. I am interested in people from other cultures and their food. I will surely go there again and try another dish.“

“Was in Linden running errand and saw this Peruvian chicken place and knew it was a done deal for lunch. So clean, and staff is attentive from the minute you walk in. Had the roasted chicken, fried rice, green salad and fried yucca — all very delicious. Special shout out to Melanie for her service!“

“I love this place. I stopped here because it piqued my interest. I got the vegetable chaufa with added chicken and a choco bread pudding to go.

Absolutely fresh and delicious. I loved the pink sauce added into the chaufa, it was so sweet and added a nice touch of a different flavor. One employee and asked me how it was and explained how the pink sauce was made.

The place is so warm and cozy and the people that work there are so friendly. One of the workers had given a postal worker a drink for free while they were dropping off the mail. It was such a nice act of kindness that warmed my heart.

“Staff is friendly, plenty of seating available, beautiful decor. The music isn’t too loud like in other Peruvian restaurants. I’ve eaten here plenty of times and this is my go to if I want Peruvian food. My favorites I’ve had here are caldo de gallina, milaneza de pollo, and parrillada triple. Their menu special also has a good variety of food. Be advised they only accept cash.“

“Good food, limited communication due to the staff have limited English. The dining area was small, very crowded. Food served pretty fast eventhough they need to redo my order because the waiter took the wrong order. Overall foods are delicious.“

“My experience here was good. I loved the food. I tried a little bit of everything they had like the ribs, rice, and soup. The restaurant is tiny inside but they do have enough tables if you prefer to eat inside. I’m not sure what the theme or culture of the place is, all I know it’s hispanic. If you’re in the neighborhood come check this place out!“

So far I've tried the chaufa de camarones (Shrimp), chaufa de mariscos (mixed seafood),and their Rotisserie Garlic Chicken (I ordered 3 whole birds for a party I had and they were a hit). The food is very good, so far; bordering excellent. The portions on the chaufas were plenty; 2 people could easily share, 3 or 4 if you have something else on the side. We also ordered papas a la huancaina and maduros which were also good and enough to share for 4 people (we were 3 on Sunday). My sis n law had the churrasco which she said was very good. The atmosphere is clean, had about 8 to 10 tables and was welcoming. The only thing that management should watch for was that the prices on the menu were not what we were charged; they were about $2 to $3 more per main dish. The extra charge wasn't a big deal but it is worth mentioning as someone else may not brush it off. We plan on going back to try more of their dishes!“

“I always order food at work. This time I went downtown and ordered takeout. They treated me very well and with great affection. I loved the service of the two women who were there. You can tell from afar when a person has a good heart. I am going to recommend this place to everyone I know. Very kind. GOOD FOOD.“

“The staff was more than helpful in helping me choose what I wanted to try. The Chicken was delicious, as well as the aji-so fresh! The chaufa was perfect! Also I tried the Chicha Morada for the first time and it was so good! I also had the tres leches cake which was also delicious and fresh.

The portions are pretty big and worth the cost-I had more than enough for a decent lunch the next day.

I was looking for a cake for a special occasion and came across Luchitas Bakery online, so I decided to give it a try. The service was good from the start, which is always a positive sign. To test the quality first, I ordered a few desserts.

We tried a lemon pie that was decent—not extraordinary but pleasant. The Black Forest cake was definitely the highlight—very tasty with a great balance of flavors. We also had a tres leches cake that wasn’t too sweet, just how I like it, and it was really good.

After these tastings, I decided to order a small cake for $60. The prices are a bit higher compared to other Peruvian bakeries, so we initially thought this would be a one-time option.

However, when I went to pick up the cake, I was pleasantly surprised. Although it looked small in size, the cake’s height was impressive, and it was beautifully decorated. Once I tasted it, I confirmed it was worth every penny—it was truly delicious.

If you don’t mind spending a little extra for a great-tasting, well-presented cake, I would definitely recommend giving Luchitas Bakery“
